An update to the 4th Generation Tablo app for Roku is now available. While there aren’t any big new features, there are a lot of under-the-hood bug fixes and improvements that should provide a smoother experience, especially around Offline Mode. We also increased the font size on the channel numbers in the Live TV Grid for those who were squinting on the couch.
You should see the update shortly, but if you’d like to get it right away, navigate to the Tablo app on your Roku device’s home screen and hit the star button (*) on your Roku remote. Then select ‘Check for Updates’.
I was really hoping that the ability to hide the timeline bar [2] would have been part of this update, but it appears that it is not. @TabloTV , could you please advise if / when we might have this added to the Roku app?
@TabloTV
REPEAT, repeat request! I have 3 Tablos and I primarily use the G4 Roku interface. I really want Tablo to make my life easier. All I want for now is to have some indication ot which of the 3 is selected when I turn the system on without having to manually scroll down to settings every time.
Either: give me the ability to hold down the navigation button to scroll down to settings. OR put the name of the unit at the top of the home page.
I thank you in advance for giving me this convenient feature.
@TabloTV
Since this update, fast forward has problems. I Start playing a recording and the fast forward doesn’t work. I hit the back arrow, then select the recording again and select resume. From then on, the fast forward usually works correctly for the rest of the program.
@TabloTV why would you guys add yet another step to select a channel from favorites? The whole point of favorite channels is to quickly get to those channels. Now, instead of going to the channel when I select it, it asks if I want to record or go to the channel. The UI should be more streamlined and getting to channels shouldn’t be so tedious.
Yep – same for me - - fast forward, step forward, rewind, ALL REALLY SCREWED UP in the latest update. Start playback, attempt to step forward and it frequently stops responding to the remote – the light on the Roku shows it’s clearly GETTING the remote commands, but the app stops responding. SAME behavior near the END of recordings – app stops responding to the remote.
COMPLETELY BROKEN.
I am also starting to see this control issue. On a recorded program, the FF and other controls do not function, though I do get the audible “bonk” indicating that it received the command.
Exiting and re-starting the recording seems to solve the problem.
There is almost nothing more frustrating than holding the button to scroll rapidly up, down, or sideways on the the main menu and nothing happens! If I push (and hold) the directional button, it should just GO!
Maybe the only thing that is worse is for it to function correctly on some screens but not on others!
I have a Tablo 4th gen, and use a Roku Streambar Pro and a Roku Ultra on two different TV’s. The Tablo and Roku devices are all hardwired Ethernet to router.
The last few weeks or more, nearly every evening when watching recorded Tablo shows, the Roku remote becomes non responsive for FF, RW, volume, etc. After several Roku remote button presses to go back to Roku home screen, sometimes I get the Roku home screen and can resume the tablo show and FF, RW, etc will work OK for the rest of the evening. Other times the Roku will go into a reset, reboot.
This happens on both TV/ Roku setups, almost every day, both Roku remote battery levels are over 70%. Any ideas what’s up with this or how to fix it? Also posting on Roku forum.
Thanks.
