I have also been having issues with FF buttons not responding on recordings for past few weeks? Not consistent on all shows or all the time. Otherwise shows play without issues.
Agreed. Forgot to mention, programs in the Tablo recordings “resent” section seem to work OK, it’s just the older recordings that you have to go down to all recordings section.
The recent Tablo app for Roku update v1.3.3 may have caused an issue. Here’s the thread with the details. It’s happening to Roku users. Hopefully @TabloTV will see this tomorrow and fix it before the end of the week.

In just the last week or so I’ve started experiencing an aggravating problem.
When I start playing a recording the fast forward keys on my remote don’t work (I.e. I can’t skip thru commercials)
In fact, most of the buttons on my Roku remote don’t work.
Sometimes I can pause the show and then start it again and everything starts working, but often the Pause/Play button is unresponsive. Sometimes I can press the back button which takes me out of the show and back to the library. Then when I resume the show everything works fine.
More often the only button on my remote that works is the Home button, which of course takes me out of the Tablo app and back to the Roku home page.
When I reload the Tablo app and resume the program I was watching everything works as it should.
As I said, it’s quite annoying.
Tablo, when are you guys going to start listening to your customers and stop “willy nilly” pushing out updates without testing them first? Everytime you manage to make an already disappointing product, suck more! For pity sake get it together! I am sure a six year old would have as good a track record as yours when it comes to successful updates! My Gen 4 will not work at all today! Oh I see you pushed this out on April 1st, Is this an April Fool Joke? If so, That is now passed and it’s time to fix it for real!
I am also having issues with fast forward of all recorded shows. I hope they can get this fixed sone. Very Annoying! I use a Roku Express 4k+ #3941x2
I could be wrong, but I think that this problem started for me before the latest update. In fact, I had delayed the update, but once I noticed the problem I did the update hoping it would fix the issue. Maybe Roku did an update that triggered this mess…

I think i use right arrow to fast forward through recorded commercials on my Roku Ultra.
I filed a report, it was escalated.

I did find a sorta work around. Instead of using fast forward or rewind, pause the show. Back arrow once or twice. Then frame forward twice, then hold down frame forward until you get where you want. If I accidentally hit >> fast forward it locks up again.
I have also had this issue. I was assuming my ROKU remote batteries were dying, but I could see the light on my Roku blinking so I knew it was seeing the remote.

Are you using the PLAY button on your Roku remote when you select a program or channel? This will bypass any secondary screens.
I wasn’t aware of this shortcut, the “ok” button used to just go to the channel when I selected it from favorites.
I’ll try to get used to using the play button even though that seems a bit awkward.

A hotfix for the issue that caused problems with FFWD & REW on completed unwatched recordings is now available.
You should see version 1.3.4 shortly, but if you’d like to get it right away, navigate to the Tablo app on your Roku device’s home screen and hit the star button (*) on your Roku remote. Then select ‘Check for Updates’.
