If I’m not mistaken, AppleTV, Roku, and FireTV all have different app versions so an update of one app shouldn’t affect the others.
Hi @Keystone,
Our Roku 1.0.1 update is uploaded only to your Roku device. It won’t affect your Apple TV at all.
We recommend contacting our technical support team to isolate the Apple TV issue.
I can verify that the 1.0.1 rollout was completely successful and all 3 Rokus in my system work as designed with the 4th gen Tablo.
The updated app interface is better than the old one is nearly every way. Layout is better and more in tune with most streaming services, and I like being able to see what else is available without having to leave the show I am watching. Thanks
The update for Roku was a success. Please consider a multi-paneled preview on fast forward for the next release.
@TabloTV - I was just noticing the time on the Guide page of the Roku app. Was this just added? This is one of the small things that I think was necessary but missing and I believe it was recently added. Thanks for that.
It indeed was.
We let our developers know you approve.
The good news is version 1.0.1 didn’t break anything. The bad news is the icons when fast forwarding are still very small and hard to see. Maybe they could be made larger when the next version comes out?
There is a new problem with this release. When viewing recorded shows the Tablo App intermittantly ignores button presses on the Roku remote. You can’t pause, fast forward or rewind. The only way I can get those actions back is to terminate the Tablo app by hitting the Roku Home button. Then resart the Tablo app, go to recordings and resume the recording I was watching. It at least lets me resume so I don’t have to manually search for where I was at in the recording. This has happened on multiple Roku models. I did not see this on version 1.0.0 before it broke.

Oh gee, I had this happen last night and it didn’t occur to me that it was a new bug.
I had the same thing happened here using a Roku ultra. forward and reverse buttons wouldn’t work. Had to exit the app and go back in and then it was fine.
This problem has gotten much worse with the new release. Now it happens roughly 50% of the time for me.
Ok, time for me to weigh in regarding the new release. The only thing I like is that the grid remembers the favorite channel setting. Otherwise I have all the same issues that over 200 comments have described.
In my career I spent 25 years building program guides (including VOD and DVR) for the cable industry… sure we had our issues BUT we always listened to our customer requests for new and improved features.
Tablo needs to form a customer advisory group to work with their product management team. In addition to povding feedback on feature changes, it could form the basis of a Beta test group.
@wthomas51 - here’s some additional info. Basically, Tablo doesn’t share a product roadmap. I understand that, but they don’t have to share it. Having the advisory group to assist with their confidential product roadmap would go a long way. You can answer the poll too, if you’d like.

I’m still experiencing same issue I had before. Can open Tablo, surf Library, select recording, but when I click Watch Episode I get bounced back to Roku Home.
Tablo Firmware 2.2.54, App version 1.0.1 -734366
Tablo app on Roku says version 1.0 Build 1.
Roku 4400X - Roku 4, 11.5.0 build 4312-17
PS. Tablo app on LG works fine.
That Roku device is approaching 10 years old. If the LG is working, maybe it’s time to upgrade that Roku device.
I still have Roku 3s in service. Always buy the high end Roku wise.
Should note that the Roku 4 is officially not supported by Roku. It used an oddball chipset not shared with any other Roku. Many services no longer support it either, and have removed apps for it. The fact that it is on OS 11 is a major clue how out of date it is. 14.5 is the latest being rolled out to supported models.
Agreed, the original Roku 4 was a technological mistake. Yes, Roku produced a lemon out of the gate.
There was nothing wrong with it. It was one of the first 4K streamers, and there probably wasn’t much choice of chipsets, at least at affordable levels. I had one, and it worked great. I only replaced it when support was dropped.
Also, manufacturers often rely on the chipset makers for basic drivers and similar. If they stop supporting it, then Roku and similar are limited or unable to add features or fix bugs.
