Tablo Roku App (4th Gen) Update (v. 1.0.0 & 1.0.1)

I wholeheartedly agree. I was just trying to answer the question, “Why are we waiting for Roku when Tablo created the issue?”

I think you and I are saying the same thing.

Roku installs apps from their channel store. I don’t think you have been able to side load apps without joining roku as a developer for a number of years. Of course if tablo installed the app from their servers that would probably be a violation of roku’s terms of service and they would just remove those apps from your device and the roku store. That would put an end to the tablo roku app problems.

Is there a reason you thought it wouldn’t?

Moving this topic to our Roku 1.0.0 update thread.

I have a Hisense TV with a Google TV front end in one room and an Onn Roku TV in another room. I have always had problems with TV 1 and the Tablo App. The latest Tablo update seems to have helped this unit from being so slow and flaky. At that time, the Roku TV worked OK. With the latest update now the Tablo software on the Roku TV has been locking up after a few minutes of viewing. So I re-installed the app and now the Tablo app can’t even connect to the Tablo. I have performed every “fix” they recommend multiple times and still, it doesn’t work. My network is strong and not the issue. The app on my Android works fine and always has. I am very frustrated and disappointed with my experience with this product. I feel as I have no one to turn to for some help with this. At this point, I could never recommend this product to anyone. If anyone could help me with this issue I would appreciate it. Thanks in advance for any assistance I can get.

Sorry you’re running into that.

It’s a known issue that we’ve announced on the forum. We hope to have a fix ready for download soon.

You said “soon” a week ago! Again, what do you define as “soon”??? I received this “new and improved” Tablo 4th gen 4-tuner device on April 7 to replace my Tablo Quad Legacy that failed. I was only able to use it for a couple days on some of my Roku’s until your latest release. Now none of my Roku’s work. If this doesn’t get resolved in what normal people consider as “soon”, what is the process of getting a refund?

Thank goodness I still had my 5 year old HDHomeRun 2-tuner. I don’t use their Roku app since it works flawlessly with my PLEX server. Which, by the way, allows me to backup my recordings and access live TV and my recordings out of home. I got the new Tablo because I thought it would be easier for my wife to use and could function even if for some reason my PLEX server was down. So much for that.

@RickyJack

Sorry for the delay.

The fix has been released.

since the new update it is basically impossible for me to FF through a recording.
If i go a few minutes ahead no problem, but if i go an hour or so, i either get a spinning wheel and the FF screen says i am 0 mins into a 0 min recording or i just get a frozen screen and have to reboot the Roku device.
Example: i have a 5 hour recording of the Masters golf. i watched 4 hours of if, went to resume it and just got a spinning wheel as if the tablo couldn’t find the resume point. I tried going back to the beginning and FFing to the resume point but got the above, spinning wheeel or frozen screen. if i FF a few mins at a time, no lockup.

Sorry you’re running into this @wilfsdad1965 ,

Would you clarify what platform you’re using? We’ve recently released both a Roku and a Fire TV/Android TV update.

Roku, as i say above in the original post.

Sorry,

Missed that. Moving this topic to our main Roku one.

Just updated to version 1 build 1 of Tablo app. 1.0.1-734366
Running on Roku Ultra 4850x
Roku is 14.1.4

Everything working fine but I wasn’t having troubles on prior version.

All good here.

I just updated with latest fix and all Roku devices are now working. Thank you.

Yes, Tablo 4 is again working on Roku Ultra 2022 and Roku Soundbar.
Thanks for the fix!

I forced one of my Roku to update to 1.0.1. I was not having the connection problems, but I wanted to check it out to see if it brought back the thumbnail ‘filmstrip’ for FF/RW. Sadly, it does not. Please @TabloTV, bring this back. I’m hoping this is just an oversight, since my ONN device, which has long had the new layout, has this feature.

Tablo TV
I now have all my Roku’s working with the lastest update. Thanks for the v. 1.0.1 on Tablo TV. Now that is good, but my Apple TV just stopped working with the new Tablo Tv 1.0.1 update! It was working fine until that update. Sooooooo, good you take a look at this issue the new v. 1.0.1 just did to the Apple TV box. Thanks!

All four of my Rokus are now connecting. Thank you very much Tablo!
