Most of the time when watching a channel hitting back button brings up an Exit the app message and does not return to the channel guide. You have to exit and relaunch the Tablo app to change channels.
Since updating my LG tv to the newest app (model OLED55C9PUA), the TabloTV app won’t work for me. All it shows is a blue screen when I try to open it, even after deleting and reinstalling. The TabloTV app is working on my iPhone currently, just not our television.
When you see the exit prompt appear, is it after pressing the back button a single time while in the player? Or do you have to click the button several times before anything happens?
You have to press it several times. Then you get Cancel/Exit window. If you press and hold you get the same. Can’t test, though. I live St. Pete and have evacuated. And as we all know, Tablo no follow
Tablo Support is aware of this issue and is investigating and will release a new update. AFAIK work is in progress, but no ETA of when the update will be released… hopefully soon.
Visit this thread I created in the Support & Troubleshooting forum for more information.
Appreciate the software update and new features. Favorites and channel filtering finally seem to work.
But
This version has problems.
1, Often, while watching live TV, the image will just freeze… while audio continues. Re-loading the channel from the guide is the only way to recover.
2. Several times now while watching live tv, the remote has become unresponsive. Pressing the direction pad up or down, side to side, does nothing. It’s not possible to bring up the quick channels on the bottom by pressing down, to rewind or ff by pressing left or right, The only way to recover is to repeatedly push the back button several times until the exit app dialogue pops up, and then restart the app.
LG 50UP7000PUA. WebOS 6.4.0 Tablo App Ver 94D153
The update just a couple of weeks ago is chaos.
Can’t get back to channel guide without exiting and reentering (most of the time).
Remote OK button doesn’t seem to do anything like it used to, sometime brings up a blue program description screen (that do you want to record, or info about screen) that just does not ever go away, again without exiting the App completely.
Fast forward sometimes has the window box, sometimes not (although I did read a post about it not being available while watching a program that is being recorded - I record Today and start an hour behind)
Fast forward bar sometimes does not appear at all. Although I did accidently notice that if you hit the remote button it actually IS going forward or back. If you hit OK it did move. Just no bar on screen to tell you its working.
Could continue with a ll of minor bugs…
Reading other posts it appears fixed are in the works. But how do you know things are fixed and does the App fix itself in the background (when on, always logged in) or do users need to check and apply updates?
New rollouts always “fail” because no matter how much testing the programmers do, something always gets missed or doesn’t quite work right.
Fix it fast!!!
Tablo App is installed on my tv. So i click on channel from guide and i get a black screen and it says something unexpected happened. if the problem persists, contact support. I can hear the channel behind the black screen. Ok just retried app and it goes directly to something black screen and something unexpected happen. Not even letting me get to guide. Tablo app does work fine on my iphone 14.
Our team has resolved this issue by this point, and going forward you should not receive any ‘Unexpected’ or ‘Invalid’ errors when launching the Tablo app. If you do receive such, try exiting and re-opening the app. For any further issues, don’t hesitate to contact our Support directly. Our team is working on improvements to ensure your don’t see this type of problem in the future.
Side comment. Unless you’re replacing your LG TV every 2 years or less, the other problem is, just as it is with Tablo 4th gen, apps will not necessarily support good working order OLED TVs because they aren’t running the “new” version of WebOS.
