I updated to the latest version (v. 1.50) released 10/4/25. Now after launching the updated app all I get is a blue screen. I uninstalled the app and installed it again. No good, at launch, just a blue screen. The previous version was a bit clunky, but at least it worked.
Device: Tablo 4th Gen. 2 tuner version.
Television: LG OLED55E9PUA
webOS ver. 4.10.0-17
LG TV Software ver. 05.40.45
There’s nothing wrong with the Tablo device. I can access it with my Samsung tablet. Video stream is playing on the Samsung tablet. Problem is with the new LG TV Tablo TV app (v. 1.50).
Is my LG TV compatible? All was working prior to the latest Tablo app update. Hopefully there’s a fix for this.
Device: Tablo 4th Gen / 2 Tuner
Television: LG OLED65C9PUA
webOS ver. 4.10.0-17
LG TV Software ver. 05.40.45
The previous version of the Tablo app worked fine, but after the upgrade to v1.50, it can’t get past the splash screen (the Tablo logo never comes up - just the initial blue background). I have another, slightly newer, LG TV that I upgraded the Tablo App on, and it has no issue running the new version.
Since my affected TV and the other user’s TV share an LG TV Software version (05.40.45), I would guess that is where the incompatibility lies. Hopefully this issue can be resolved quickly.
Thanks for confirming there’s an issue with the app on certain LG TV’s.
I don’t know how often Tablo Support visits these forums to review bug reports, so I submitted a support request as well. I would suggest to submit your own support request so that the Tablo Support team know that other Tablo / LG TV owners are affected by the application update.
Well, I got a very fast reply - so kudos to Tablo support - but it was not good news.
"Thank you for reaching out. Unfortunately, the 4th Generation Tablo app is not compatible with LG TVs running webOS versions below 4.5. Since your LG OLED65C9PUA is running webOS 4.10.0-17, this might be causing the issue. Currently, there is no way to revert to the previous version of the app.
Please ensure your TV’s software is up to date and consider updating to a compatible webOS version if possible."
So, unless LG updates TVs running 4.1 to 4.5 or a later Tablo version happens to make it start working again, it looks like we are out of luck.
I also got a reply, but it’s different than the reply you received.
Thank you for reaching out. The Tablo 4th Generation app is compatible with LG TVs manufactured in 2019 or later running the LG webOS 4.5+. Since your LG TV is running webOS 4.10.0-17, it should be compatible. However, it seems there might be an issue with the latest app update.
We recommend keeping an eye on the community forum thread you created for any updates or potential fixes from other users or our team.
Thanks,
Tablo
Between the response you received and what I received, I think Tablo is screwed up.
For Tablo 4th Gen owners that have LG TV’s running webOS 4.10.0-17 and haven’t updated the Tablo app… DON’T DO IT!!!. Well not until Tablo fixes their app to work with webOS 4.10.0-17
I would say the one work around is to get a cheap Fire TV 4k stick (limited time deals at Amazon right now). From what I’ve read, all Amazon Fire TV devices are compatible with Tablo 4th Gen.
Our LG TV’s are running on webOS 4.10.0-17… which is higher than webOS 4.5+.
So the Tablo TV app should be working on our LG TV’s.
In that case, the response I received from Tablo Support should be correct.

I hope they will release a revised app updated to work with webOS 4.10.0-17.
Please note that there have been some issues with the basic Amazon Firestick 4k model. I have not heard anything regarding this in months, but I wanted to share this if you do decide to go that route. In my experience, Amazon’s 4k Max 1st and 2nd gens work great. (I have too many STBs to pick just one brand!)
You are correct. I found this web site ( LG TV operating system by year | en.tab-tv.com) that would indicate that your E9 and my C9 TV are in the “2019 webOS 4.5” family. So hopefully they will have a resolution at some point.
And further review of the email I received shows that my response was from an automated system rather than an actual support engineer. So, finger’s crossed that they come out with a fix.
In the meantime, I plan on using Screen Mirroring from my Android phone to the TV. I tested that earlier and it seems to work okay.
I have a reply that is currently under review (most likely because it has a web link in it), but I found a website that confirms that my C9 and your E9 are the 2019/webOS 4.5 family.
I replied to the email that I received from support (which, it turns out, was from an automated system and not an engineer) with this information. Here is the reply I just received.
"Thank you for contacting Tablo support!
I understand your concern. This is a known issue affecting a small number of LG models, and our product team is actively working on a solution We are waiting for an update to address these issues, but unfortunately, I do not have an ETA at the moment."
I received an email from Tablo Support this afternoon.
Hi there,
Our team has been made aware of an issue with LG TV (Blue screen issue) and we are actively investigating.
We are working on a fix and ask for your patience while we work on releasing an update.
Please send us an email if you have any questions.
Thank you,
Eva
Tablo Support
It’s reassuring to know that Tablo Support is investigating the issue. This latest email is short and to the point, very positive that a revised update will be coming.
Another issue since LG App Update: The back button doesn’t bring you to the channel guide anymore. It asks to exit the app. So there’s no way to change the channel without exiting and relaunching. This is a huge annoyance that I hope can be fixed soon.
So it’s been at least two weeks since Tablo screwed up the LG app. How long is it going to take these clowns to fix the issue, Why can’t they just revert back to the older working app and get that put up on the LG app store. Good thing I didn’t update on both my LG tv’s.
Our team has identified the root cause of the issue and has already submitted an updated Tablo application to the LG app store. We are now waiting for the LG store to process the update.
We are hopeful this will happen quickly, but it may be several days until LG releases the Tablo app update. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience while this is worked on.
