I’ve moved my Roku to three different TVs in my home and it’s the same issue on all. Either the show won’t play at all on the Auto or Stereo audio settings on Roku, or the show will play silently on the Custom audio settings on Roku described above.
Thank you for your comments ,I thought to buy another Roku , but no now after your comments also there is google product less complicated ,that also work with Tablo app . TK By the way cheaper than Roku device.
Our team has been made aware of an issue caused by the Roku OS 14 update. The results depend on the Roku hardware model. We have made Roku aware of this issue and are working with them to resolve this as soon as possible.
In that regard, we’ll move this thread to our Rok 14 one so as to keep everything in the same place.
After recent update my Tablo TV only shows x’s instead of numbers for time remaining when watching recordings. However, it’s only happening on one TV. Another TV we watch on works fine.
Since the latest app update, whenever I watch one of my recordings, it deletes as soon as I’m done watching. Obviously, this is not a desirable situation.
Thanks for that tip! I went into the phone app and opened each show from the past week or so and selected “delete watched” and one show that had 2 episodes, one watched and one unwatched….Tablo chose to just delete both.
Our team has already submitted an app update with a fix for this issue included; we’re now waiting on Roku to publish this update. When this happens, your Tablo app will be updated automatically and this issue should be resolved.
Just to keep everything in the same place, we’ll move this thread to our main one.
There is a new version of the app available. It is version 0.8 Build 801. This app still does not work and it does not solve this problem. Same problem as before. Please advise.
Hi there @jkrus10414, as noted in the announcement post here, this release does not yet address the issue related to OTA playback in Roku OS 14. But you can be rest assured we are working with Roku to get it resolved as soon as possible.
Within the Roku “Settings” and “audio” and “digital output format” and “custom” the “Dolby Digital” is selected with DTS turned off. By doing this, the picture now shows but NO sound. When I run other apps on the Roku, using these SAME settings, both the sound and the picture show perfectly. Are there any other settings I can do in order to get the sound working on the Tablo app?
A new update of the Tablo Roku app came out and it seems to have fixed two problems: recordings disappearing after playing back once and scrolling times showing up as boxes with X’s in them. With Tablo’s record, I am waiting to see if any new bugs have been introduced.
As for Roku version 14 I am not having the problems that others are having. My TV is old and shows only Stereo when I select Settings > Audio > Digital output format > Auto on the Roku.
I am having a different problem however. Sometimes when I turn the TV on the Roku puts the home screen on the TV but the Roku is locked up (no remote arrow keys work). Then after a little while the Roku reboots and works normally. I am investigating whether the Tablo app is causing this problem by removing and reinstalling it.
My system:
Roku Ultra 4802X SW 14.0.4
App 0.8-801
Tablo 4 gen 2 chan FW 2.2.52
TV Panasonic TC-L37U22
Roku, Tablo Ethernet TV HDMI
I have had other problems with Roku devices (completely unrelated to Tablo). I have noticed that these issues have to do with the tv that the Roku is connected to. In this case, some tvs are able to handle Dolby Digital audio, and others are not, so no sound. The tv that my Roku is connected to is pretty old, so there’s no chance that Dolby would work.
At the top of the Tablo screen, scroll to the far right to the settings icon. Scroll down on the left side to Roku for the Roku settings. Down one more to “About” for the Tablo settings.
The app number is not the Tablo firmware number. To get the Roku app version:
From the Roku home screen select the Tablo app and press *.
From the Tablo home screen select the gear icon at the top right, then select Roku on the left side.
As of this writing the app version is 0.8.801
