🚨 Overnight Guide Update, Rescans and Infrastructure

Titan TV uses another media metadata company called Redbee. I vaguely recall someone saying it’s an Australian company.

Maybe Tablo could get their info from Titan since Gracenote isn’t cutting it.

Tablo mentioned before it has to do with some commercial licensing deal. Some of those companies do not provide the proper license.

Obviously that is not the case here because most of the subchannels are displayed correctly. The channels in question are displayed, they just show information from a different channel.

As of last night, I cannot perform a channel scan. Have rebooted tablo over and over. Tried on multiple devices. It gets almost to the end and hangs. It also loaded a new update yesterday and now I have this problem. ABC had gone missing which is why I was trying a scan.

The constant issues with this device are getting old.

It’s finally fixed for me. You may want to try again.

+1 - Tablo lost all my channels. Tried to do a channel scan and all of the sudden no channels are found. I made sure the antenna was still working and receiving channels (it is). I’ve also reset the Tablo and attempted to start over but still nothing.

There have been some technical problems the past few days. Some regarding the Guide Service Updates. It seems to have had downstream negative impacts in various areas.

What I had to do was to uninstall/reinstall the apps and use a nearby zip code that was different than the one I had used.

This seems to have resolved my issues. YMMV.

One important thing is I installed on Android mobile first before any other devices. Make sure that ‘location’ is turned on before you start. Make sure that the Android mobile is on the same network as the Tablo Gen4. No guest or sub-nets.

Hope this helps…

Running a channel scan will not complete, gets close to end and never finishes. Also the guide update will not run. Restarted and still not working.

That’s strange @jamieh1,

Try power cycling your Tablo.

If that doesn’t work, contact Tablo Support and let us know what device you’re using with your Tablo and if this problem happens with more than one kind of device.

Overnight Guide update is hung up again.

Hi! I noticed around 7am (Eastern time) today that not only there is a problem with the Channel Guide, but I am unable to watch or record anything on CBS Channel 19.1 in Northeast Ohio 19.1. I am able to record Channel 19.2 which is “Me TV.” Every time I try Channel 19.1 it says, “Error Loading Airing Details.” I did a Power Cycle and everything else that usually gives good results. (My 43" TV lost video on Monday and until my new TV arrives I’m using Tablo via a 19" Insignia TV.)
Didn’t this problem happen last August when Tablo was down for several days and would not recognize certain channels?
This is not crucial for me today, but I just wanted to let you know there is a problem with CBS. Happy Holidays to everyone!

I have tried factory resetting my Tablo’s now none of them get ANY channels at all! Is there a system issue? Do we have an ETA for a fix please?

Sorry you’re running into this. Would you contact Tablo Support? They may be able to help.

I don’t know whether this the same problem but the nightly guide update is very slow (it took at least four hours) last night. I don’t dare do a channel scan because I may lose all my OTA channels. I have a Roku 4802X and a 2 ch gen 4 Tablo, connected by Ethernet. I am in the Pacific time zone.

you don’t lose anything if you don’t save the scan.

But all this excitement about scanning and updating made me install the new firmware and do a rescan using a Roku 4660.

The scan never completed and when I used the return button it asked if a I wanted to stop the scan. I selected yes and it never returned control to the app. But if I use the home button and restart the app everything seems to be okay.

I tried again and selecting stop takes a long, long, long time to return control to the app.

Then I tried something stupid like update the guide. I only have 61 channels selected and 8 minutes in I have zero progress. I can only wait and see what happens tomorrow when user hook up their new tablo.
