Ya - @sktn77a mentioned the recent marketing push and the probability of more users vying for service. It could be that the onboarding of new users is now affecting the available resources. Not to mention the explosion of issues in this forum.
Tablo knows what sales are. Do you think amazon and walmart run black friday sales without adequate compute processing power.
Apples and oranges, @zippy. Those are very different companies from Tablo.
How many times in the last 2 years has tablo posted about increasing gen 4 server capacity. Do you think they do this in the dark with no knowledge of current and future requirements.
You can increase compute capacity all you want but an inefficient app will likely still not perform well. But who’s to say either is true. Just speculating.
I’m experiencing the same issue. Guide scan will not complete. It stops at 83%. I was doing this as my channel guide developed an OTA channel duplicate from one broadcaster to another, i.e. KOMO channel 4.2 programs duplicated on CBS channel 7.3 in the Seattle area. There is already a CBS channel 7.3 (Laff) in the guide. Now there are two 7.3 channels displayed in the guide. The duplicate 7.3 channel is showing programs that are in channel 4.2.
I will have to say the latest Tablo firmware update corrected streaming issues with some channels.
Apple TV model A1842 (64GB) tvOS 18.6
Tablo firmware 2.2.56
Channel scan will not finish on mine either and hangs. They sent out an update in the past day or two. Every update seems like it breaks something.
I’ve said it before “I do not like doing resets/restarts etc.” As in the last time(s) when Tablo is having major problems I will not do anything to/with my Tablo. Just let it chug away and record what we have scheduled and wait for a fix.
On my Android devices, my channel scan hangs after scanning the ota channels and b4 scanning the FAST channels.
On Roku, the scan pulls in the correct channel count then hangs.
Now mine won’t even start scanning at all.
Mine took about 10 minutes to show anything on the progress percentage.
Are you joking?! contacting Tablo Support - is an exercise in futility. Please, do you have ANY other worthwhile suggestion?
I tried running a channel scan and it was taking forever so I stopped it. I let it run while having dinner last night and it finally completed. Saved the changes, then tried to update the guide and that hung. It is still trying to update the guide this morning. So frustrating.
Should be ok now that the servers are back online.
Still not working for me
There have been some technical problems the past few days. Some regarding the Guide Service Updates. It seems to have had downstream negative impacts in various areas.
What I had to do was to uninstall/reinstall the apps and use a nearby zip code that was different than the one I had used.
This seems to have resolved my issues. YMMV.
One important thing is I installed on Android mobile first before any other devices. Make sure that ‘location’ is turned on before you start. Make sure that the Android mobile is on the same network as the Tablo Gen4. No guest or sub-nets.
Hope this helps.
It updated with the wrong channels so the info isn’t matching with what’s on the channel. Now when I rescan or I update the guide, it’s stuck on 0%.
I know this isn’t the way it’s supposed to work, but it should eventually finish. It seems that @TabloTV is experiencing issues with their infrastructure. Our Guide took over 4 hours to update manually yesterday. All I could do is wait. If it doesn’t finish, you might want to submit a support request.
Major problems! Why doesn’t Tablo fess up to a major infrastructure issue? I think Todd is on vacation, and only Todd can reset the issue. So we wait…
