I know this has been asked before. Google says reboot, re-scan and blames it on weak signal. Not the case. EVERY channel shows up except NBC 5.1, including 5.2, 5.3, 5.4, 5.5. It suggest too strong of a signal and turn antenna Amp off. Tried it. Here are some things I tried in no order:
Re-boot base station and Roku
Re-Scan Channels
Ant Amp Off and On
Channel Guide Updated
Clicked all channels off saved, clicked all channels back on saved
On Android App cleared cache.
History and Set Up Tablo 4th Gen 2 Ch, two yrs old (early adaptor) is connected through Ethernet to router. WiFi streaming to Roku 4K/HDR. I also run Android App on Samsung S23 and the Apple App on a iPad Mini. Both work fine, **however ALL still show the LIVE channel guide issue of Channel 5.1 not showing on list. **
Bottom Line: All is working except Channel 5.1 does not show on LIVE list, but 5.1 still records from previous record programming. I can watch 5.1 live from Library. Frustrating
Some viewers in the Dallas Fort Worth area have reported issues regarding KXAS NBC 5. This may not be related but who knows? It is inconsistent.
This is a stooopud question but after a rescan did you check to see if there’s a check beside 5.1 in Channel Lineup?
Mine has turned on and off random channels without me touching them. I think it’s caused by stations dropping off then back on at some time that’s relevant.
@gmcjetpilot There were issues in the Dallas DMA where people were having pixelation issues on several channels. I found that there are a couple of cases where channels are transmitting on adjacent frequencies which is not good. Chans 5.x and 68.x transmit on adjacent freqs. Chans 11.x and 21.x transmit on adjacent freqs. A dirty transmitter can interfere with reception of and adjacent transmitter. in my case There were times when 21.x interfered with 11.x and caused it to disappear. Chans 68.x were constantly swamped by 5.x and was gone 80% of the time. The FCC really screwed up by allowing transmission on adjacent frequencies.
The television didn’t have a problem with transmitters on adjacent freqs. Why? The tv has more IF, Intermediate Frequency, amplifiers that gives an narrower IF bandwidth that has better adjacent channel rejection. The tv also has much better AGC, Automatic Gain Control. The tv will always outshine the Tablo receiver.
My problems with interference were mostly cleared up after I pointed my antenna 30 degrees off axis instead of pointing it directly at the antenna farm,
Adjacent channels have always been a problem with DTV. I tried to find an old document from my previous life back in the stone ages when I was involved in developing standards. Here’s one that explains some issues.
I live in Memphis and I am having this exact same issue. 5.1 doesn’t show up but 5.2-5.6 does. It is still recording NFL and NBA that comes on 5.1. So this evening, I noticed it on the upcoming recordings and I noticed it has 5.10 as the channel and not 5.1. It also gave me the option to click on live TV and it gave me an error of channel_not_found (S999013626_005_010). I have also tried the soft reset, hard reset, changed zip codes, re-scanned, unplugged for 30 secs and tried refreshing the cache on 2 fire sticks and android phone.
I noticed this started happening for me on Saturday, 12/20/25. The same day Tablo was having connectivity issues.
Honestly I don’t know how it works with 3 NBC stations broadcasting on 3 different RFs with the same display channel (5.1). Perhaps the station was doing maintenance?
It looks like RF30 is their full power primary signal and the other two are low power repeaters. These would have to be kept “in-phase” - I don’t recall the correct term.
I am having the exact same issue. I’m in Memphis, and WMC-TV 5.1 just will not appear in my guide now while 5.2, 5.3, etc show up fine. Outside antenna here, full green dot’s signal on all, Ethernet , Roku, and iOS none of which will show 5.1 although it is fine in scan and saved.
I opened a ticket on December 20. They email be back every now and then. Last one being this past Friday, January 6. I sent them a video of the issue. My parents also have a Tablo in the Memphis area and their 5.1 doesn’t show up in the guide either. However, when it enters offline mode, we are able to view 5.1.
Last heard from Tablo IT on Jan 6 about channel 5.1 issue. They wanted to remote in. I emailed them to let me know when they were available and havent heard from them since. Going on almost a month with no 5.1. Losing confidence this will get resolved.
Same here.
I’m in the suburbs of Memphis (38138). I just got a Tablo from Walmart and cannot get it to receive WMC-TV 5.1. It is listed and selected in the scan results, but will not appear in the guide.
I got a new antenna after reading through /r/CordCutters. I’ve moved the device and antenna to all parts of the house. I’m pointing the antenna directly at the transmitter, which is 9.2 miles away at 320.8° according to RabbitEars.
I’d be inclined to think it was just a problem with channel 5’s tower if our Samsung TV and several Roku TVs (TCL, Hisense, & Onn) didn’t pick it up just fine with $12 antennas.
Hello, and welcome to the community. If you haven’t already tried this, turn off the amplifier in the Tablo Settings. Then rescan the channels and save.
