I recently updated my Legacy firmware and the process to view the Legacy device on my Android phone with the pre-installed and logged-in Gen4 app was klugey and very discombobulated. It eventually settled down and I was able to use both the Gen4 and Legacy apps with the Legacy device. Now we can use our FireTV and Roku devices without any issues.

Try deleting the Roku app and reinstalling it, that may help.
If that doesnât work, would you share with us the version of the Roku OS your device is on?
I recently installed the latest firmware on my Legacy Tablo and have been trying out the gen4 apps on Android, Roku and Fire TV sticks. One thing I find annoying is that when going to Library/All or Library/TV Shows it displays all of the Scheduled shows even if there are no recordings. This happens in the Roku and Fire TV apps while the Android app works properly and only displays actual recordings. Is this ânormalâ for the gen4 apps? By that I mean does it behave like this with a gen4 Tablo?

Tried that twice. Each time I do that it allows me to get into the app one time but if I hit the left button to go to the navigation menu that seems to freeze it up and then when I exit and come back in I get the searching for Tablo every time.

As the title says, my legacy Tablo received a firmware update a few days ago. Since then, it has been recording random shows that we have not selected. I delete them, then the next day another set of random shows is recorded.
Anyone else seeing this? What the heck is going on? Itâs like someone else has access to my recording selections since the firmware update.
That is very strange. Can you please avoid deleting any future ârandomâ shows and place a ticket with support and include the following details:
- Your Tabloâs serial number
- What specific ârandomâ programs have appeared as recordings (title, date, time)
- Whether ârandomâ programs are also shown as scheduled in your Tablo apps
- Whether these random recordings are seen across different apps (either different platforms or if youâve done the legacy transition steps, across legacy and 4th Gen apps)
I had the same.
Found not all recordings are being listed in the new app, but are still being seen on some level. Entire show groupings are missing. Went back into the legacy app and found a failed recording on a show that wasnât listed in the new app. Deleted it on legacy and now zero failed on new app, but still missing the whole group of shows.
Main question is why all recordings are not showing up in the new app.
*Issue is on Roku TV and Roku 4K.

I had the exact same experience but I posted it in the old beta test thread and should have posted it here. Below is an editted exerpt from that post and subsequent update but the upshot is that the new app either can not handle hundreds or thousands of recordings or there was one or more problematic recordings it could not handle and when I removed enough or the problematic ones it started to work.

I just installed the new firmware on my main Tablo that was not part of the beta program with mixed results. I have a problem trying to use the Roku Gen4 app with my main Tablo. I tried this on two different Rokus with similar results. They both initally launched, on one Roku I went to the library and after a few seconds the app closed and whenever I try to relaunch (even after restarting the Roku) it will try to load but closes. On the second Roku, I went to the Live tab and started configuring the guide view and all of a sudden it crashed too and behaves like the first Roku when I try to launch the gen4 Roku app again. No combination of removing and re-adding the app and restarting the Roku improved the situation. My main Tablo has almost 2000 recordings. Iâm not sure if the gen4 Roku app is having trouble handling this many recordings, perhaps similar to the ONN issue previously reported.
Update: I decided to see if reducing the number of recordings would help the situation and the short answer is Yes. Over the weekend I deleted what I no longer deemed necessary and transferred hundreds of recordings to my Plex server via Tablo Ripper. When I had only a few hundred recordings left on my main Tablo, I could suddenly use the Roku gen4 app to access it. This was consistent across multiple Rokus so the problem was not tied to any specific Roku device. Does anyone else have hundreds (or thousands) of recordings and have you seen a similar problem? FYI - This is a problem only with the gen4 Roku app, the gen4 iOS (iPhone) and Android (Samsung Tablet) apps worked fine with ~2000 recodings.
If the old app can see them and the new canât, then the app has what should be a simple fix. No point in using the app if it canât access all my recordings. No issue on the phone app.

The missing recordings that should be in Library/All ⌠Are found on the home screen under Recent Recordings. Needs patch.
Are the recordings youâre missing series recordings or manual recordings?
If theyâre manual recordings, this is to be expected.
Just downloaded the new version on my legacy box, is there an easy way to delete on the new version. Usually when I get to end of show I just hit back arrow on fire remote and I get the delete screen. The new version doesnât do that and I much prefer seeing almost the whole screen on my recordings instead of just 3 and having to scroll side ways to see more. Or maybe I am doing something wrong.

If you can share some additional details with the support team including the app/platform youâre using, which specific recordings are present on legacy and not on 4th Gen, and if thereâs any difference across apps (i.e. issue is present on Android TV but not on Android mobile) that would be helpful.
Which platform are you using? Delete Episode is an option on the screen you should see when a recording ends or you hit back.
