Introducing: Plex Channel for TabloTV

@Jaggerdude - just place a ticket w/ @TabloSupport and they’ll remove your other Tablo ID from the server.

Thanks! I emailed the issue with Tablo Support hoping they’d get back to me ASAP.

Removal of old Tablo id worked…

So is that a Tablo bug or the plex plug-in bug?

Also–@TabloSupport may I suggest that you include a de-register function in the Manage Your Account page taht’s currently being developed?

Thanks!

Both units are returned in the call… it is my opinion that they could be filtered out somehow in the Plex app.  However, as to how to filter, you’d have to write something to say which one is correct.  Oh… and just for clarification, the problem is not limited to the Plex app.  So… rewrite fixes all around.

@cjcox it’s actually a fairly simple fix that will be in the next version. Ill let you know when I upload it if you wouldn’t mind testing

Well… I suppose, you’ll have to create a fake record in my account (an extra Tablo) of course.

@TabloSupport may I suggest that you include a de-register function in the Manage Your Account page that's currently being developed?

Thanks!

It’s gonna be in there! You can add and remove Tablo units from that interface easily. Can’t wait to show it off!

@jaggerdude @cjox I have fixed the issue with old Tablos causing problems in the latest development build (ver .99)

So this is an update to .99?  I’m running .99… do I need to do a new pull?  I don’t have the multiple records anymore… so it’s not a huge deal to me at the moment.

I just wanted to take a second and say thanks to @DavidVR, @TabloSupport for picking up the slack in my absence.  I have had some very serious family member surgery/recorvery, etc.  While things aren’t 100% back to normal at this point I am at least at a point where I can start working on things again and fielding questions/comments/support requests.

Sorry all for my absence.  Happy Friday!

“VIDEO UNAVAILABLE – We’re unable to play this video, make sure the server is running and has access to this video” when streaming remotely to Roku 3.

I have been using PLEX for about a year.  I have had TABLO for just a couple of days.

The primary purpose for acquiring TABLO was to stream live OTA TV from my primary residence to my vacation home where I do not have a good live TV solution but do have high speed Internet.  I have been streaming PLEX video including other PLEX channels to the remote home for some time without difficulty.

After receiving TABLO, I got it working flawlessly in the primary residence using the PLEX Roku 3 app.

The next step was to get it working in the remote vacation home.  I really did not expect any problems because of the good luck with other PLEX/Roku operations.  Surprise:  I immediately began receiving the message:

"VIDEO UNAVAILABLE – We’re unable to play this video, make sure the server is running and has access to this video"

each time I attempt to receive TABLO live TV or recorded TV using TABLO/PLEX/ROKU3 remotely.  This pretty much negates the reason I purchased TABLO.

I realize this post has become verbose, but has anyone seen and/or solved this problem?  I have Googled the message and find it referenced several times in other forums but have found no real solutions.  Thanks in advance for any help/suggestions.

@JohnT I posted it in the other thread, but try turing off direct play and direct stream , it seems to resolve it for me at least playing back remotely.

Resume play and already viewed indicator not working with Plex?

@mb190e I’ve only begun to look into it but it doesn’t appear that plex has a way for us to join the already viewed and resume party

@Davidvr I would have thought it was tied to the json data, but I cannot see it. I see where I think it should be, but nada

@jestep they would have to add it to the plex api since their apps use completely different Apis from the plex api

Trying to run the Tablo Plex channel and I am having issues.  The channel works well through web browers(PC and Mac, through the iPad and iPhone.  However, I have nothing but issues with it on Amazon Fire TV.  I’ve had it working and then it would crash back to the Fire TV home screen.  Now no matter what I try when I click on the channel all I get is:

No items to display
This directory appears to be empty

Anyone have any ideas or have had any success getting this to work?  No issues at all on other devices, even devices on wifi or outside of my home.  Fire TV is wired LAN, as is the Tablo and the Plex server is hardwired as well with link aggregation, so bandwidth should not be an issue.  I know I could potentially install XBMC and Plex and hack around that way, but I bought this box so I wouldn’t have to.  Plus I can’t root, mine shipped with the latest firmware.

If someone has a solution or some ideas I’m all ears.  Otherwise I will likely return it and wait till there is a native Amazon Fire TV app.

@DaveH We believe the the issue is with the Plex client for the FireTV, @PIX64 bought one to test but he couldn’t get it to work correctly and sent to back (I think he replaced his FireTV with a Roku, which is a great device if you haven’t tried one)

@DaveH Happens on my Galaxy S5 also and is a Plex client issue. I have to clear the cache for that app and then I can run it again. Really frustrating

Yeah the issue is with the way plex caches items, and specifiaclly the way we cache things in the channel in an effort to speed things up.  I have and idea on how to fix it from the code side, but I have had 0 time to test or play with anything in the past month :-/  hopefully soon.
