Firmware 2.2.2 drives "Loading, Please Wait"

Does this mean that you guys actually isolated the problem? If it will help you, I will be happy to participate, but since mine is currently working I would very much like to know what was making others NOT work.

Mike@Caldwell.ws

Tablo not useable at all right now, so would really like to give it a go. If it doesn’t work, I promise to be polite!

How will I know if installed; email, or some sort of pop up, or just check the Settings from time to time?

I’ve been experiencing the 2.2.2 ā€œLoading, Please Waitā€ issue myself. I’ve seen it on two hard-wired Roku 3’s, and one wifi-connected Roku 2 (new version with the Roku 3 electronics inside). When my Tablo recording level is set to 1080p, I see very frequent ā€œLoading, Please Waitā€ screens on some 1080i content, but not all. I also see it on some 720p content, but not as frequently. It seems slightly worse on the wifi-connected Roku 2, but I haven’t tried to quantify it.

I tried turning on ā€œFast Live TV startupā€, but that didn’t help. I tried changing the Tablo recording level to 720p Roku/Chromecast and that does work. It seems to be a stable work-around.

I’d like to participate in the limited test of the firmware fix, but I’m new to these forums and I don’t seem to have PM privileges. I have replied to my ā€œWelcome Messageā€ with my email address.

@sheltrk - Got it! I’ve passed that along to @TabloSupport.

Had this loading, please wait issue before the last firmware update and still now with a brand new Roku3, doesn’t happen as much when I record in 720P chromecast/ROKU but it still does.

I have an apple TV hooked up to the same TV and tried to play the same show recorded in 1080P and it never occurred, even by FFW commercials.

Now I’m thinking about returning the Roku3 and getting myself the new apple tv when it comes out

@TabloTV - To PM on this forum, do you click the user-name and then select message? I did that to @TabloSupport with my MAC address, just not sure that is the correct way to contact / PM.
Thx!

I don’t know what a PM is. I also would like to be included in the test. Can you help me out?

Thanks

Yep! Easy peasy or you can simply email support@tablotv.com.

FWIW, I tried to send a PM, but it’s certainly not intuitive with this forum software, and I found no way to see my PM history either, so I 'm not sure if it worked or not.

If you’re on a PC/laptop, you can click on your user icon, located in the upper right hand corner (yours should be a red/orange circle with the letter ā€œMā€), and select the mail/message icon. You should be able to see your posts and messages there.

Tired of waiting for the fix! Apple TV in place and is working well. I wish Tablo would get an app going for Apple TV but, until then, I will suffer through Air Play.

Count me in on this issue. Roku3 with published or preview app and 2.2.2. Infuriating when trying to watch anything (especially football!)

Well, I don’t see any ā€œmail/message iconā€, but I I’m pretty sure I sent something…to somebody…

I as well with no response. I took it as ā€œThanks, we have plenty of testers.ā€ Just wondering how much longer for a repaired version of 2.2.2.

I sent a pm too, but still nothing.

Ditto…same here.

Has any confirmed what exactly format the 720p 60 fps source content is recording in? Is it being recorded as 720p 60 fps, or 1080p 60 fps? I know the recording quality setting on the Tablo is ā€˜1080p’ but from the messages posted by TabloTV / TabloSupport it seems that the recording is 720p 60 fps.

Tablo said you have to be set to record at 1080p to get 720 60fps
