Firmware 2.2.2 drives "Loading, Please Wait"

Thanks!

So then there is no upscaling of the resolution, 720p 60 fps content is being recorded as 720p 60 fps at the 1080p setting.

@TabloTv said this, “In order to get the 60 FPS, you must record at the 1080 setting which will capture 720 @ 60 FPS when possible.”

I removed some Tv shows that were on Fox from my Tablo using surlatablo.py.

This is what Mediainfo shows:

Here is one for the wife. It was recorded from a 1080i source.

Hope some of this helps.

Thanks. So the 720p 60 fps source content is recorded at 720p 60 fps when using the 1080p recording quality.

And it is the playback of the 720p 60 fps h.264 video that is causing problems on the Roku.

That is correct.

But if I remove the shows from Tablo & play them in Plex on the same Roku3 or Roku TV they play fine.

They are Direct Played. No transcoding.

How are you removing / extracting them?

I’m using the script from “cjcox”. His surlatablo python script.

I see. I know all these methods that use ffmpeg to extract the recordings are not leaving the video untouched.

ffmpeg is in fact reencoding the video so that’s likely why it plays back fine.

I know for sure Jestep’s Tablo Exporter does not leave the video untouched. It is a great tool.

Maybe a screen shot would help. I’m using the Chrome browser on my laptop:

Thanks, I finally found it.

Any news on this issue?

I asked to be part of the trial, but never received any response, acknowledgement, etc.

Same here, but no reply for me either.

Saw “Loading, please wait.” on the National 19 times last night.

My wife is asking me why we are putting up with this.

This is not good…need update or the tablo might be moving on soon. :sleepy:

If you are in fact using the 1080p recording quality and your issue is not network related, then switch the recording quality to 720p and it will fix the problem.

This is a sure fix until Tablo fixes the 1080p issues.

My wife and yours are in the same camp and pressure is building to go get at least basic cable. She is invoking the old common sense question - “Why can’t they revert back to the earlier build?” There is likely a technical reason for not doing that but that certainly was our Tablo “Happy Place.” Right now life really sucks when it comes to TV watching - thank goodness for Apple TV.

You keep saying that, but the experiences of @jayeffgee and @oldmike don’t seem to agree. It seems to me that 1080p may be a factor, but it’s not the only factor. And too, changing the recording quality won’t do anything for existing recordings.

Well there has been no change in how 720p recordings are done at the 720p recording quality in 2.2.2 (from what we were told anyway). As well, I continue to have no playback issues on the Roku with 720p and others have reported the issue going away when going from 1080p to 720p, so my assumption would be these individuals have other network issues.

Options are always good…like the option to revert to the previous firmware!

Network issues that just happened to occur coincidentally with 2.2.2?
