@Scott_Mccay … that subjective… because if you’re getting poor wireless performance. It sounds like you have a weak signal to your tablo. I have zero issue on my tablo and streaming devices on my wireless.

- Ability to start replay of recordings while still recording (does not work on iOS). Use-case: Recording live events like sports events and wanting to watch from beginning while the game is still going.
- Ability for Picture-in-Picture replay or - at least - keep playing audio and don’t stop the stream when leaving iOS app. Use-case: checking emails or the clock of the phone while watching on phone.
- Desktop client. Ideally browser based thin client delivered by accessing the device IP, but a “thick” client for Windows would work, too. Use-case: Ability to watch TV while working on a PC.
- Better information/debug info for signal strength on channels.

Generate thumbnails all the time including scrolling back during live viewing instead of just when a recording finishes.
Also if there is a signal dropout during a recording not only does the recording get split but the first part of the split does not allow FF or rewind.

Ability to filter sports series recordings to specific teams. Until this is implemented, im sticking with Plex and HDHR where i have the ability to only record my local teams games and not all airing games in that sport.
Would love a last/previous channel button, to quickly flip between 2 channels

I’d like more and different FAST channels. I also want to watch on my phone outside of my home.
Honestly, when it works I think it is the best OTA device out there. It’s 95% to 97% there right now in my opinion (and I’ve used a Recast for over 5 years).
Maybe a more sensitive/robust tuner, but that’s about it, IMHO.
Configure the VPN that comes with your router and use OpenVPN on your phone to do just that. You should look up a how-to video on YouTube. It should take about 20 minutes.
The ability to undelete a program after accidentally deleting it.

The ability to record a program you’ve been watching for 15 minutes without losing the watched portion.
I still have a TIVO and you can pause one tuner and watch a different program on a different tuner and when an ad comes up, you can pause that tuner and then watch the first tuner without missing anything.
I know that Tablo has limitations and Tablo does have some nice features also.

A signal strength meter would be very useful. It would be nice if we could tune to a channel and see its signal strength (not just a ‘good’ or ‘bad’ indication, but a true signal strength meter).

Record video already in the buffer. While watching video, if we could rewind, pause, then select to record from that point. When I had Dish Network, it had that feature and it was very useful.

1/ A live signal strength, and live signal quality meter.
2/ Rotor Friendly, as in being able to rotate the antenna, scan and retain previously found channels, while adding new channels.
3/Being able to view recorded items that are stored on the hard drive, without using Tablo.
Most of my requests should be common sense for any DVR but I guess Tablo needs help. Even my Amazon recast had these features. I’m referring to recording OTA, could care less about recording streaming.
The useless LED on the front needs to turn red when recording!
No reason we can’t hit record while watching a show without going back out!
Fast forward or rewind on live shows needs to show the video!

This will likely never happen because of the design. The preview thumbnails are created by using a tuner to process the video AFTER the recording has ended.

Was Tablos DVR designed by kids? That’s crazy if true, downright sad that Amazons recast is better than this thing. Guess I wasted my money.
Sorry you feel that way about the Tablo. Yes it has some short comings but all in all for the price I paid I’m more than happy with it.
