I currently can watch my TabloTV devices thru all of my TVs (via Roku sticks) and my iPhone and iPad. Awesome playback. My son is buying me a MacBook Neo and I wonder if I can do the same with the Neo, i.e. watch TV via the TabloTV devices I have?
I saw a bunch of stuff indicating it was possible with the Safari or FireFox browsers, but no indication where the actual MacOS app was available.
So is the app available and if so, where and which browser to use?
The Legacy Tablo (Orange and Blue logo) black square used to work in Safari, but now it does not since Safari requires HTTPS or secure web pages. There was never a Mac application as far as I know.
I get quite frustrated with “the experts” removing valid technology “for your own protection”.
With that said, WAMP (not the one you’re thinking of) is very niche. I mean I get it, the old company (not the current) wanted to leverage the tech from their “pre Tablo” days (a long long long time ago).
Regardless, http is not evil, but “the experts” believe it is. And, it’s just sad.
It’s very Microsoft-ish with regards to stance. Companies shouldn’t dictate how technology (protocols in this case) can or cannot be used. When they do this, it actually discourages innovation.
