Tablo survey 8/3/25 Is your tablo 4th gen working as advertised?

Is your tablo working as simply and completely as hinted in their ads?

No. Better than a year ago? A lot besides the latest guide drop out. They just need to let the whole antenna loads to their servers and then back down to my tv thing go! Leave channels locally please, do a weekly data dump of what I watch that’s not that hard. Already thought a lot about Zapperbox. I use my tv tuner alone most of the time, so they don’t GET my meta data most of the time.

No. The guide is still not updating properly.

No, I mean the guide is showing no data for things we want to record.

Iam not sure what Tablos businesses model is or how they make money, but Iam guessing if they lose subscribers they are losing money.

Whats the return policy at Bestbuy?

Unfortunately not. Funcionability works well. Big issue is the lack off an accurate channel guide. I find it that it works best with Roku devices. With my fire and Tivo sticks I can not customize closed captions.

Unit runs very hot. It is installed a couple of inches above ground and secured with the screws, not touching the wall.

Yea the guide is loopy. Live sports are impossible to record cause it doesnt show up. Come on tablo! Dont make me switch to Plex. Cause if i do i may not come back. U GUYS CAN FIX THIS!

30 day return policy at Best Buy

No, still many drop-out guides. Also in the library, many of the ā€œcoming soonā€ sections are still showing loading problems.

Nope, it worked perfectly for six months. But, last week the program guide became patchy. All efforts at trouble shooting have failed and the only advice received from customer support was to wait another 48 hours.

No, had it over a year and have to reboot almost every day, and my wi-fi is fine. Now with this guide nonsense I think i’m done with it.

Is it currently working as advertised? No, it is not. But before last week, yes it was for my purposes.

No, still missing a lot of guide data. Glad it is only my backup DVR as my Zapperbox been working fine.

Still spotty guide data and can’t record shows with blank data.

No, it’s a piece of junk. The legacy Tablos are MUCH better. I got a gen 4 as it seemed one of my legacy’s were dying. But it’s still running, and way better than gen 4. I see others have mentioned, but the guide data has all kinds of ā€˜programming not available’. Yet the legacy Tablo shows ALL the programming. I wish there was an easy alternative to this POS.

I say it’s time for me to buy a dependable 4 tuner silicon dust hdhomerun and pay 35 bucks a year for a dependable guide! Beats this CRAP! Only $199 and has 4 ATSC 3.0 / 1.0 tuners and from what my buddy says, completely dependable!

On the ATSC 3.0 capable HDHomeRun, some requisite (IMHO) viewing:

After the server outage my programming has come back about 50 to 60%. But there’s a lot of shows that we’re supposed to be recorded. That weren’t and there’s a lot of whole areas in the schedule, especially in the major networks. There’s no programming so you can’t record anything.

30 years ago I got cable so that I could record things and wouldn’t have to be at home at a certain time. Well after 30 years. Haven’t it be home when the news is on? When two news shows at the same time you can only watch one.

It must be a third party provider that provides the schedule and that provider must not have any real responsibility to provide the schedule. Otherwise it would have been fixed. I would rather pay something to have the schedule if I had somebody that had to be responsible to be sure that it was delivered regularly.

Absolutely not. Though the guide appears more complete, important features are still not back. Example, if I want to record NBC Evening News every night, there are no recording options available. I have to record each ā€œairingā€ individually and it appears on my schedule as failure to load. Having to check for things every day is incredibly tedious.

Same problem, unable to record series.

I’ve been updating my Guide every 6-8 hours during daytime hours for the past several days and haven’t seen any movement until just now, when I cleared cache and data on my Android phone - most if not all programming is visible in the Guide, but clicking on a major network (ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC) 12:30 PM CDT time slot shows Error Loading Airing Details message. Try Again. Womp, womp!
