Tablo Server Outage?

I just had the same problem. Locked up and wouldn’t restart. I restarted my Roku and my router, plus hit the reset a couple of times.

Finally got in with my Android phone but could only get into my library. Home and Live are both locked out.

I’m guessing that their servers are out again.

I have the same problem app just will not load also noticed that since the Roku update 0.8.500 its been taking forever to load when it does work. Seems as though when they get one problem fixed one or two more pop up, most frustrating.

I woke up this morning and my wife noticed the tablo was stuck. I logged into the forums and read there was an outage… WHY would I factory reset my Tablo, if the info is posted?

That’s on the users not Tablo.

Adding to your DownDetector, comment… Make the My-Status page USEFUL. I know my stuff is connected to the Internet… but it tells me nothing about YOUR side of the equation. Feels like a waste of code.

I totally agree. These way too common server outages are a deal killer. I’ve been singing the praises of this device up to now, but I need to rethink that. I can’t recommend this to anyone with these outages happening all the time.

I’m tired of texting my mom to pre-warn her so I don’t get bombarded by a freakout phone call!

Same. Our Firecast was getting increasingly unstable, but that thing operates like a dream compared to how Tablo has been performing since we got it. Not impressed.

At one point mine had a message that directed me to call Tablo support. hahahahaha!

Seriously, just fix this.

Hi folks -

It looks like things are recovering.

If you’re still having issues, try rebooting your Tablo. If that doesn’t do the trick, wait a bit and try again.

Thanks for listing the My-Status. I was unaware and I didn’t notice it on tablo’s Support page.

I think that feature is only available on android devices, and TBH, it doesn’t show up very often for me.

I’ve already requested this. Hoping to make it a priority with the engineering team.

It was shared by @TabloTV in a few other threads and I made it a point to bookmark it. I have one Tablo that’s at the end point of the apartment and I worry when it seems to have a slow response!

There was an outage, but seems to have been fixed.

@John_Hinshaw – I would recommend you delete this post and then share this message privately with TabloTV. Just so your email address isn’t out there floating around on the web.

Instructions for sending a private message to TabloTV...

Click on TabloTV’s username or icon. You’ll see a similar popup to this one:

Click on the blue “Message” button and it will bring up a text entry box with the link to their post:

You can delete or change any of this pre-loaded text as you see fit. Then, just type your message in the empty space.

Tablo is up now.

Considering how unreliable the servers are, I would recommend not doing a factory reset and losing your recordings because of a temporary server outage (reboots are OK).

It is 4pm EST. Tablo very slow to start up and I could not access anything! Looks like @TabloEngineering and @TabloSupport have more work to do.

Yes, the Tablo servers clearly were down again from 3:41 PM EDT (or before that) until 3:45. Only someone trying to launch a Tablo app would be impacted. Those continuously watching during the outage wouldn’t have noticed.

Question: Why is Internet access even needed to start watching a recording? The signal goes from the DVR, through the router, then to the watching device. To me, it’s pitiful coding to prevent that from working without Internet access. Or do we need Tablo’s permission even to use the product we bought from them?

During this morning’s outage, I couldn’t even launch the Tablo app on my Roku Express 4K+. Fortunately, I could launch Tablo on my phone, and it did show my recordings. But I don’t want to watch it there when I have a 50" TV.

Seems to be back down again tonight 8PM EDT. Not working on Android, but works on my ROKU TV. Are there different servers?
