An update to the 4th Generation Tablo app for Roku is now available. It’s relatively low-key, but it has numerous behind-the-scenes updates required for new features coming in subsequent releases.
You should see the update shortly, but if you’d like to get it right away, navigate to the Tablo app on your Roku device’s home screen and hit the star button (*) on your Roku remote. Then select ‘Check for Updates’.
You must be joking. Be prepared for more great features. After 2 years I’m not sure I can deal with any more.
But I did see one fix. On the previous release when I scheduled all recordings for 60 minutes and big brother the program icon showed up under “library/All”. Now only the individual episodes show up under “Library/Coming Soon”. The program icon under All is gone.
Application Version 1.1.1-734366
Back arrow on Roku remote doesn’t respond while watching live TV or playback. Work around is to choose (*) Options remote button, back arrow. That gets the back arrow working until exit and reloading Tablo application.
I attempt to schedule a recording from the grid. When I get to ‘series recording options’ screen, for some shows, the options are grayed out. No selections possible.
For some other shows, I can select options, then I cannot close the series recording options screen. I have to press home on the roku remote, and go back to roku home, in order to close the series recording options screen on tablo. If from the homescreen i then open tablo again, and find on the grid the show I just tried to set to record, sometimes the little orange REC icon shows up, sometimes not.
Is this due to tablo not playing well with the roku update? BTW clearing roku cache did not help.
Recently (in the last couple of weeks) I will occasionally not be able to control any of the Tablo functions with my Roku remote. This is the Roku ultra. I cannot stop, backspace or go forward when watching live programming or recorded programming. If I exit the app and re-launch Everything is fine again. Not a biggie but apparently I’m not alone with this problem and maybe it’s something the Tablo people can take a look at as a low priority item.
There is some conversation going on in the Roku forums about this. I don’t believe it is a Tablo problem, I believe it is a Roku problem. My Tablo is currently down and I am waiting for a new one to be delivered, so I am not using Tablo at all, and I am experiencing the ‘back button’ problem… Netflix, Hulu… even the home menu doesn’t consistently respond to the back button.
I have about six Roku in different rooms. They all started experiencing this problem this morning EXCEPT for one of them, my new Roku Stick. It is the only Stick version that I have. All are running Roku version 14.6.
I have 5 Onn/Roku tvs and 1 Hisense/Roku tv. The Hisense is the only one with the back button issue. I do note that the Hisense normally gets automatic updates long before the Onn tv.
Clearing roku cache by doing: press your Roku remote’s Home button five times, then press the Up arrow once, followed by the Rewind button twice, and finally the Fast Forward button twice
did not work earlier today, but I did it again just now and the back button works again. For now
What is the difference between the above cache clearing procedure, and clicking “system restart” on the roku UI menu?
I thought it was long ago discussed here that the cache clearing was preferable and would clear out more issues ??
oops roku back button working again but i still get grayed out options when i try to set up a recording on some stations. Guess this is left over from the big tablo outage?
time for me to contact tablo
support?
I have what appears to be the same issue, where the Episode Recording Options is greyed out, but the other options are available.
NOTE: Another issue with the Tablo on all devices is that a series recording doesn’t show in the Grid with the orange boundary indicating that it’s scheduled to be recorded.
this issue with the Episode recording is on the Roku only as shown below - my Fire Stick and Android app can both record Episodes.
