Tablo App keeps shutting down while watching

Has anyone been hearing loud poping noise on their TV running new tablo?

No popping sounds noticed yet on mine.

I spoke too soon. Here is a review I left a couple of days ago…
First of all, the unit kicked back to the Roku menu after as little as 1 minute of viewing a channel that lasted for about two weeks after I purchased (this still occurs about 20-30% of the time), finally they came up with a workaround by having you disable closed captioning. Fine, I’m not deaf, so no problem. But being used to my previous Tablo Quad, I expected a much smoother experience. The 4th generation Tablo is full of bugs. It sometimes won’t even open on first try…just keeps loading. You have to exit and relaunch. If you are watching a channel and want to switch, you have to exit to the guide (no more switching directly to another channel) and half the time, when you select the channel you want to watch, the app freezes…so once again you must exit the app and relaunch. The only redeeming quality the 4th generation Tablo offers is a free guide, but it is not completely accurate on some channels. So if you don’t mind waiting for Tablo 4 gen to get going it’s great. As for me, I’ve hooked up antennas to all tv’s in the house as a back up, so do I even need Tablo anymore?

I hate to say it this way… but something is up with your setup. I have the same Tablo Gen4 2 Tuner, with 7 Roku devices and it works fine. If it wasn’t, my wife would make me switch, happy wife happy life.

I’m sure you are fully updated on the Roku APP and the Tablo APP.

I’m going to say it’s LOW RF signal, Shotty Wireless Signal, or a terrible chipset on your router or switch.

With the APP stuck on the loading screen… makes me wonder about your network.

Hmmm, I don’t think so. My previous Tablo worked perfectly, all other apps work fine (Sling, iHeart radio, Roku channel, etc).

Yes it’s been happening on and off for months now. Only happens at very beginning of a recording. Snaps and pops in the first few seconds then plays fine for the rest of the recording.

Glad to hear you say that, I was beginning to think my wife was hearing things.

I would get a crackle or popping noise when I played the first recording through Roku, but not usually after. None of the other devices have ever made this noise.

We are getting the same problems, I purchased a lifetime guide on my old system, I kind of felt that I was taken when the new tablo guide was free, But I guess they had to give you something since the new tablo spends most of its time broken.

I did reviews for Linksys for years and I have the same problems, My mesh setup is working flawlessly.I will say that I have no problems with using Onn with the tablo, but roku is an issue,
