You really didnât have any issues after the second firmware? HmmmâŚ
⌠* glares at his evil white pucks *
IDK. I still think there was some signal loss and more buffering. If @Lenlabnj has a support ticket in and theyâve already waited this long⌠another day or two wonât hurt. (I never @TabloSupport, but I figured someone @TabloTV started this post, so maybe theyâd have kept an eye on itâŚ)
I have been watching football for a lot of today on my Roku with no issues at all. Though tonight I am back on my legacy Tablo because I am at my computer and away from Tvs.
It may be possible that the double FW release only caused me a problem because I did mine within a few hours of each other. It didnât get to do its overnight voodoo hoodoo magic jumbo wumbo and mightâve been stuck in a state of flux.
IDK why my Tablos did what I consider a double reboot the other day, but theyâve been working a lot better since. Itâs still not as smooth as the few hours I had with the first 2.2.48, but I can at least play something while recording now!
(I quit testing the Roku for live TV since I canât seem to duplicate anyoneâs issue, but maybe since the Roku app has fewer features and less things loading at one time, maybe thatâs why it was working better those two days?)
I donât own a Gen-4 myself, and donât have any special knowledge beyond what Iâve read while being a member here for over 9 years, like @snowcat.
Heard back from TABLO support and they want me to remove the TABLO app and reinstall it and let them know if that fixes the problem.
I have to ask them first what the impact is on all of the recordings I have and all of my scheduled recordings. Do I lose anything by doing this including all of my settings from stations I have deleted etc.?
No impact. The app itself just reads the settings from the Tablo. That is why when you get a new Roku, phone, etc and install the app for the first time on it, it is setup already like every other device on your Tablo network.
So go ahead and uninstall/reinstall. It is a useful troubleshooting measure.
The one thing to avoid if at all possible is a factory reset on your Tablo. That will wipe out everything (recordings, schedule, channel list).
Okay I did this and a message came up as soon as I opened the reinstall to update to 2.2.48 and I checked settings and it shows that 2.2.48 is already installed!
The message has choices of : âLATERâ âUPDATEâ âREFRESHâ
There was a teensy tweak that the people who updated right away did not receive. If youâre being asked to update again, itâs totally expected and includes that small tweak. We recommend you process the update.
