There are other horses in the corral to ride.
And no I have never accidentally deleted an app. The more likely event is the STB burns out. So I have redundant current models of fire tv stick and roku setup but back in the box.

Yay! So no one needs to concern themselves about your specific situation.
Anybody else might want some options.
I think it is the same on all the Legacy devices, except the HDMI model. I once thought I was wrong, but I was mistaken.
Got you beat… I’ve been wrong for over 43 years. So I’ve been told. Repeatedly. Sometimes loudly.
I’m not worried about Sept 1st. And I’ll putz around with my Legacy with the Gen4 app before then. Over the years we have gotten so far away from watching any (new) OTA shows regularly. There’s very little that interests us now. Well other than my wife recording Judge Judy reruns. And she uses the Gen4 for that. And so much has gone to steaming services which I don’t want to subscribe to.
I hear you. Old technology term.. GIGO… Garbage in Garbage out.
I don’t understand how people get so worked up about television. It’s really horrible programming.
Most of the time my TV is muted. It’s just noise.
My spouse does Murdoch Mysteries… 19 seasons!
Barf.
generally, any new issues users may have with legacy devices are rarely tied to the apps to access them. The apps aren’t being ‘shut-down’, just unsupported. This isn’t the same as they won’t work.
In the beginning there was only support for MS Internet Explorer/Edge or Google Chrome. That’s not to say Firefox wouldn’t work, just if you had issues you’re on your own.
September doesn’t shut us down yet. But it’s slowly fading.
I have 2 gen 1 units connected to the same antenna using the same channel list. Two to 3 weeks ago one the units stopped updating the total guide for the LAFF subchannel. The other unit is fine. Both can play the actual channel. If I cared about LAFF I might try to use different techniques to get it to start updating.
Now if there was an up to date tablo2plex DLNA server for legacy units we might not care about the actual company or their apps.
