We read a lot of bad news on this forum so I thought on this last day of 2025. I should send out a little happy information. This morning I tried to watch a recorded program and could not connect to the Internet or perhaps tablo servers on the Internet, but good news. The system requested I transfer to off-line viewing and everything worked perfectly. Nice job of fixing up a major problem, Tablo tech guys and may you continue your success in 2026. HAPPY NEW YEAR.
I don’t need off-line mode often, but I’m glad Tablo has it when needed.
I’ve had several days when I turn on my TV and Tablo to watch the local news at 5 am and it defaults to OFFLINE MODE. I have had success quick pressing the reset button but this morning I had to recycle my Internet. Internet was working for my phone and computer just fine. I reset the modem and Tablo started working. I’m not real happy but I will survive. These forums have become a big bitching session lately so I do a quick look at the latest posts and get out quick if it doesn’t affect me. You really need to be a GEEK to manage your way through Tablo’s issues (even when it’s not their fault) but I still admire what they have accomplished and what they have saved me paying Comcast and the rest. I know the future will be a lot of new things to learn with changes coming to OTA TV but I want to say thank you to the teams helping us through.
I’ve had mine stubbornly switch to offline mode even though my internet is fine and I have a strong wifi signal. So, it could be good news or a buggy feature.
It’s a failover feature. For when your device cannot communicate with their servers.
Thank you for the kind words! Glad Offline Mode has been helpful.
We have even more improvements on deck for this year, so stay tuned.
If only the guide was a bit better organized in offline mode.
Hello, I am new here. I got a 4th gen for my mom and it is set up and working pretty well. I need a bit of help that the chat bot and tech support isn’t helping with. She lives in Piperton TN, outside Memphis. When I do a channel scan, the local NBC affiliate comes up (5.1) but does not show on the guide. There is a sister station of 5.3 that plays local news and local programming. How do I get 5.1 to display and able to watch? I have tried a few different zip codes, amplified vs non, and several channel scans, all of them have 5.1 (NBC) showing and selected. I have also tried deselecting all but 1 station and updating the guide then back to all channels selected. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Over all, she is pretty happy with it but can’t watch NBC national news…
A few other folks in Memphis have reported the same problem. One OTA Channel Not Shown On LIVE But Still Records No one has posted a solution. All you can do is submit a support request and hope.
