Server Outage (Resolving) - April 18, 2025

The live function on our Samsung TV still errors out. Works fine on the iOS app. Going to the movie, sports etc headers works and can watch it. Some hiccups with the Samsung app?

WHY WHY WHY does this crap continue to happen??? And if you know what the problem is, can’t you make the error screen say that rather than unexpected error if the problem persists…BS message? Went through the hassle of reset and then hard reset (boy do I regret that one!!!). Oh, and the answer to my first question is, because we don’t have to pay for it.

It looks like the Table servers are failing again.
On the Roku (4802X) it is hard to connect to the Tablo (4th gen, 2ch). When it does connect, when try to go to the Live menu, it is blank.
On Android, I can connect to the Table and go the Live menu. But when I try to play a program from the menu I get an error “Error Loading Airing Details”.

Anyone else having the same problem?

Hi @Parts_Guy

While our servers were down briefly on the 18th, we don’t see any indication that our servers are currently down (on the 21st).

Would you reach out to our technical support team? They should be able to help.

Something’s down. Even getting new error messages I’ve never seen. No live. No recorded shows. No access to guide. Nothing.

We’re watching our Tablo through Roku on Live TV since 5:00 PM CDT and haven’t seen any hiccups. My Android app is working too. What’s the error message?

Well I’m DEFINITELY not pleased. Sometime after 4/17 all of the OTA channels got wiped out. Scheduled recordings for 4/18 and 4/21 weren’t performed because of this. They didn’t come back without some intervention on my part to do a rescan. Could the server issue possibly wiped out all of the channels? I’ll get into the Roku App issue in the other thread!

All the tests I have seen suggest that the server outages only impact viewing. If an OTA show was already programed to record before the outage occurred it should continue to record just fine. Once the outage is resolved you can then watch that recording.

I have never heard of a server outage requiring a channel rescan, but anything is possible.

Here is one of them that is new. One of several.

Down again here in Southern Utah. Sigh.

And now it’s back up.

~12:30pm Pacific Time today…

“Optimizing guide data…” message with a spinning circle that never stopped spinning.

WebOS Tablo app version on my LG TV. Eventually gave up after about 5 minutes and force quit the app… No lunch break TV watching for me today…

One thing I have noticed with using LG app is I get the spinning wheel trying to load live and if I leave it alone and the TV screensaver launches the live guide comes up. Developers please take note. That must be where one of these bugs lie.

Tablo servers seem to have crashed again. Roku (Ultra 4802X) will not connect to
Tablo and Android says “Unknown Error”. This is the second crash in five days.

I just loaded on my Android S24+ and it loaded pretty quickly, so we’re working. We’ve had our Fire Stick Max 4k online since 4:00 PM CDT and haven’t seen any blips, drops, or issues. I also went and loaded my Roku 4850X and opened a live channel without any issues.

It looks like it was a short-lived outage. Downdetector shows a quick rise and fall in the number of trouble reports. My system is now working.

Quick update:

Intermittent issues loading live TV. Sometimes recordings work, and sometimes spinning circle. Same old errors, same old troubleshooting. Still, Tablo “comes and goes”. Been happening for a couple of days now. Does not seem to have fully recovered from outage the other day.

Is Tablo aware and working this? It’s really becoming ridiculous.

Edit: And now it’s back again. Sigh.

Same issues here. Lots of spinning circles and long delays in live TV or even recordings.

Why can’t Tablo cache the results of last time up if servers are down and move on? Seems overly restrictive design to insist on a cloud server link before bringing system up. Poor s/w design.
