That’s why I included the OS version. As far as I knew, 14 was the current OS. I have no idea why I was “blessed” with this new OS.
They just released 14 for beta testing.
I saw that on cord cutters news this morning… but I didn’t ask to be a beta tester! Gah! I turned it on the other day, ran updates, and it asked me to DL the new OS. I figured, “Well, I haven’t touched it in almost a month, it’s prolly right…” LOL
You should post about it on the Roku forums, too, so the developers know.
Lucky you!
I’m hoping that’s a case of hard-core sarcasm, my friend…
You must not use Roku very much. Even when a major release becomes generally available it has it’s fair share of issues. And that has been true for the last 4-5 major releases.
You see my other other reasons for not using it much? It’s mostly my “emergency backup” and sits on a TV I don’t use very often.
But to get a beta/developer OS version that I shouldn’t have… well, that’s beyond my control.
With roku you don’t have to be always checking for updates. You will get them installed automatically whether you want them or not.
Roku OS 14 will start rolling out to customers on September 17, more information about the features included will be available in the coming days and weeks.
I don’t have it plugged in so it doesn’t “get” automatic updates. As for Roku OS 14… you do realize it’s the 19th now, right?
Roku OS 14 “BETA” rolled out Sept. 17. Most people won’t even get it for many weeks! Then all of us with 4th gen tablos will get a whole new bunch of problems. Never ending nightmare…
Is it or isn’t it beta. This doesn’t appear to be a beta/developer thread.
Dude from Cord Cutter News YT channel said it was a beta, rolling out to developers that had been selected by Roku. But… they’ve been wrong before, and I’m certainly no developer.
The roku statement says “customers”. Not developers or beta testers. And it’s in the main release thread.
But I’ve been to the new Roku OS release rodeo before and I don’t down load new OS releases. I wait for them to show up after being installed in the middle of the night.
Roku OS 14 was released to developers August 26. Roku

When returning to the grid from a live program, sometimes the focus returns to where it was previously (good), but sometimes (mostly) it goes to the Scripps apps at the top of the grid. Is this a bug or Scripps-mandated feature?
