This is a known issue, and Tablo is working on a fix. If you access your Tablo via the phone app, you should be able to find that recording. If you play it just for minute or so, and then check the library on your Roku it should reappear.
Moving this to the appropriate thread so we keep everything in one place.
20 Days ago you started to work with Roku to come up with a fix. I still have this problem today with my 3941X Roku Express 4K+ software ver 14.0.4 Build 12221. Select channel from the guide and player closes and goes back to the grid. How much longer is this going to take? Canāt watch TV with my Tablo 4th Gen.
Will there be a fix today?
This is regarding the 3941X Roku Express 4K+ and Tablo 4th Generation. As of yesterday when I select a channel on Live TV it goes right back to the TV guide. Can not watch any Live TV anymore. Need help!!! Works on my phone and 4800 RW-Roku Ultra box.
Posted this problem on the Roku Community Board. Others also complaining about Roku Software Ver: 14.0.4 causing OTA TV programs not displaying.
Did you try the workaround?
In the settings for the Roku device, go to Audio ā Digital Output Format ā Custom, then make sure Dolby Digital is selected for the Dolby section. Can leave DTS off. Then go back to the Tablo app and try again.
For some users this solves the problem, for others, they get picture but no sound. It seems it has to do with the combination of Roku and specific TV.
Hadnāt looked at the Roku forum. Congrats to the Tablo developer for creating a bug that even the Roku staff canāt find.
Wow, nice to see all these angry messages on Rokuās forum for a changeā¦since this really is their doing. Perhaps it will motivate them to work closer with the Tablo folks to get a fix.
Mine is doing the exact same on one of my Roku 4K sticks this morning. Never had an issue like this before. I rebooted the Roku stick (no luck). Pulled the power on the Tablo (no luck). But oddly, I do not have this issue on 2 other identical Roku 4K sticks in the house, nor my Apple TV 4K nor on my iPhone. WTH???
Just for the record, you have confirmed that the two working Roku sticks have updated to Software Version 14, correct? I know 14 was released a while ago but I had one Roku that didnāt update until a few days after the others.
Correct. All of mine are on 14.0.4.
I did just do that audio trick that KGBnut posted. It made it work! Why would that matter? I had never changed the audio setting from the defaults on these sticks ever. Whatever, it did make it work at least.
I canāt take credit for that fix. Someone else came up with it. I was just sharing it. I think it has something to do with Roku not automatically selecting the right audio output under Tablo. Manually forcing it to Dolby fixes that, but only if the TV is Dolby capable.
I tried the work around and get video but no sound.
Not everyone has Dolby capable TVās. So now Tablo has to fix their app.
Roku and Tablo need to work together to fix this, and quickly!
I just tried the audio fix and I have to say, I really wasnāt expecting it to make a differenceā¦damn, was I ever wrong!!! Thanks stuman74 and KGBnut for passing on this info, you made my day!
I have three tablos. A two tuner, 4 tuner legacy units and a two tuner 4th gen. All are wired connections and i have a 400mb connection thru Spectrum. All worked fine until today. Cant watch live tv on any of them!!! They are all playing on Roku LTās. My Samsung phone plays the tablo app fine. Somebody please fix! Thx!
Donāt developers get lead time to make sure their app works on upcoming OS changes. I know that Apple provides beta OSās ahead of time. If Roku does as well, then the onus is on Tablo.
Roku has the reputation for NOT giving app developers much, if any, advance information about upcoming OS changes. I know some people connected to some of the larger streaming services and they complain about Rokuās policies, too.
