Resolving Tablo Server Outages - July 27 & 28, 2025

When I went on vacation about 10 days ago, my guide had lots of gaps and I could not record most shows. Now, things are back to normal. My guide data has filled in, and as a bonus, I now have program listings for a couple of channels that previously were ‘Program Not Available’.

I am glad I was on vacation for most of this outage, Having to have both the guide data and internet working in order to record (or even watch) a show is very bad for customers. I really think Tablo should prioritize time-based recording to mitigate the guide/internet connection problems in the future.

Still can’t record a Series on any major network for any show that is not a repeat. I have to do them one day at a time. Very annoying.

As of Tuesday 12th at 7PM EST I am still getting the same error trying to record series of shows, I just refreshed the guide.

My guide and recordings seem to be back to normal. I’ve poked around looking for shows that show the Airings page that began appearing during the outage, and I can’t find any anymore, so every program I attempt to record acts as expected.

HOWEVER, Tablo continues to make it necessary to delete and rerecord series recordings every so often because the timer does not remain on the selected channel. The one instance I can verify is the PBS News Hour in Oregon, which appears on 10.2 at 4 pm weekdays or on 10.1 at 7 pm.

I tried setting Tablo to record either NEW or ALL of the episodes for 10.2, but at some point the timer always switches to 10.1. That point is today, where when I go to Coming Soon, all weekday recordings are set for 10.2, UNTIL August 25, when the timer changes to 10.1 at 7 pm.

I have reported this issue numerous times over the last couple of months but have not received any response or acknowledgement of the bug.

I usually only notice it when I forget to check COMING SOON and therefore neglect to delete and reset the timer before Tablo goes on its merry way and decides to record a different station from the one I chose.

This Tablo support page says the fix will go in tonight. https://support.tablotv.com/hc/en-us/articles/40020307783572-Guide-Data-Issues-August-12-Update It seems like Team Tablo can’t get their story straight.

Just created a series schedule for NFL. All games now show up in Coming Soon. Woot!

As of Wed 13th at 8AM EST I am still getting the same error trying to record series of shows, I just refreshed the guide.

I was checking the guide day by day for the next 14 days, I see channels like NBC, ABC and CW with Guide data populated correctly until August 26th 11PM EST.

Univision, the channel I can’t schedule series recording, I see a gap with NO GUIDE information (blank), not even Programming not available, from August 25th 10PM EST until August 26th 7PM EST, then there is guide information from August 26th 7PM EST until August 26th 10PM EST.

I think that gap in programming data is what is not allowing for Series Recording to be scheduled.

Has anyone just totally reset everything as new even new Tablo account and started fresh and what happened?

I am not planning now to sit here hours  reporting individual show by show that no longer record due to whatever happened. I have some on every channel just about that series recordings wont let you make new ones and kick you out. Having to go day by day manually thru most channel to set things manually.

Same things that did not work days ago still don’t. I have had ZERO improvement since this all started really.

I tried a few times and it really didn’t make any difference. Some channels are populated and still have issues with major networks/shows and series recording.

I think, as long as the input is corrupted or wrong, the output will continue to be wrong no matter what you do.

OK thanks. I was just contact by Tablo to put mine into “remote access mode” so they can go in and look at things. I just did it right now about 10am EST.

Good. Now you can share the details of what went wrong.

In the San Diego area, series recording issues still persist. Guide is populated out 13 days and can do manual recordings.

Examples

CBS - 8.1 - CBS Evening News, 60 Minutes
ABC - 10.1 - ABC World News Tonight
NBC - 391. - NBC Nightly News with Tom Llamas

When trying to set series recording from iPhone, I get this Error - “Failed to load. The requested content was not found.”

When trying to series record from AppleTV Tablo app, the app crashes.

I can manually record each episode, but cannot do scheduling for ALL or NEW for what looks like major networks/national programs.

Thanks to some work from the support team yesterday afternoon, my series recording issues are smoothed out for the most part.

@TabloTV I’ve come across another issue, that may or may not be related to this. Last night when creating a series recording for all NEW MLS games, I noticed that there were no games scheduled to be recorded. It seems they games in the Guide were not marked as “new” so the series recording didn’t pick them up. I was able to schedule the recordings individually. Also, I noticed that some of the episodes of The Late Show for this week were also not marked as “new” which they are.

Something else to look into, perhaps? Or a new issue? I’m not sure but wanted someone to be aware.

I think you will find that if you check titantv and legacy, the late Night shows for the 13th, 14th, and 15th are all repeats.

Ah, that would explain The Late Show. :+1:

Thanks for your patience, everyone.
