(Resolving) Intermittent Server Issues - January 2

Am so frustrated! TAblo is down again here in est Sunday at 1:00 pm. NO word from anyone from Tablo about what’s going on. Also I can’t get into offline mode because the app keeps spinning and is not responsive on any of my devices! Terrible!

Fortunately I have paramount plus so I’m able to watch the games like they are. I would have been happy if I could go into offline but again we don’t have that option available. I would have assumed we would hear from Tablo management given all the issues since the start of 2026 but not a word.

Information for Monday morning - @TabloTV - for the past week/week and a half, we’ve been seeing buffering multiple times per day - at least 3-5 times - with some Network Errors mixed in. Prior to some recent updates, we hadn’t seen many buffering or Network Error issues, but it seems like recently it’s gotten worse.

my 4 tuner model died today around noon pacific. i have been trying to get my backup 2 tuner model running but the guide data will not load meaning i’m stuck on the welcome screen in the app on my roku. when i check the tablo page here for my device it says it checked in 26 mins ago. so if my device can contact the servers why can’t it download the goddam guide so i can watch tv. i’ve been without any ota tv since midday.

update. i am now able to get into the guide but if i click on any program i get ‘error loading airing details’ and can’t select the channel. presumably related to not being able to load guide data (even though the guide is there and correct).

As you found just because a program is listed in the guide doesn’t mean it is fully loaded. This happens a lot with sports programs when the guide changes from e. g. NFL football to listing the teams that are playing. It also happens with programs like 20/20/Dateline/48 Hours when they change from a generic title to a description of the episode.

i’ve never had this problem on mine in 2 years of usage. the guide will not update from settings. i can click on the channel to watch live tv in the guide but none of the programs current or future, so i can’t set any timers.

Mine got corrupted last week with the same symptoms.

I changed to a nearby zip code and did a rescan and saved. Making sure Your Channels are checked before saving. No prob since.

thank you sir, worked like a charm. only wasted a day on this. who knew that flipping the zip code would fix the problem immediately.

Thanks again for your patience over the last few days. We’re glad that many of you were able to take advantage of Offline Mode to continue watching live TV and recordings.

This recent period of server instability was a result of growing pains as we attempted to switch to a newer, more resilient server infrastructure. Despite meticulous planning and testing before deployment, the changes did not perform as expected when in production.

We now have a much clearer understanding of why these issues occurred and how to move forward. Additional planning and more thorough load testing will be completed before we attempt to migrate to the new infrastructure again.

In the short term, things should return to previous levels of stability, and we’ll do our best to minimize any future impacts.

Communication is critical. Had the users known that this migration was coming, I think it would have tempered the frustration.

It’s 3:30 Eastern time at my house and I am still getting freezes and try again messages on NON LOCAL channels even. This is getting to be a large pain.

Just as I’ve said before, over 2 years in and we are all still just “Beta Testers”! Every single last one of us with 4th gens. Most problems should have been resolved on launch over 2 years ago. What a TURD!

Also, reminder not to do migrations, server updates, or app updates over a holiday, on Fridays, or over the weekend (unless an emergency fix), please. Regular changes could be done Mon-Wed with Thursday/Friday reserved for chasing down issues from Mon-Wed.

Issues tonight at about 8, I don’t know how people use offline, I can’t.

Off-line mode only works if your Tablo recognizes it as an internet connection problem and prompts you to go into off-line mode. If it doesn’t recognize it as a connection problem you are stuck. There is no manual way to force off-line mode. I wish there was.

However, I will say that when you genuinely have a connection problem off-line mode works quite well.

I know that, it did prompt me to use offline mode, it was a connection issue, still did not work for me, this time, and previous times.
