This problem just started with me this morning on my TCL tv. All three other devices work just fine.
When I select “Live” I get the following message:
“Unable to load Live TV, There was a problem retrieving Guide Data. Please check your internet connection and try again.” Two buttons: Retry and Cancel.
The guide does not appear.

Same issue on my 2 tuner Tablo

Fire TV Model AFTMM
Android OS 7.1.2
Tablo Firmware 2.2.54-2433716
Same issue on TCL Google TV app, no guide, same error message.
Application Version 2.0.3
Android Model Smart TV (TCL)
Android OS 11.0
Tablo Firmware 2.2.55-2532313
Updated the guide a couple of time, this did not resolve the issue. Internet is working on the computer etc. The guide does appear on the Tablo app on the iPhone and on the Amazon tablet Tablo app.
@bgscott50 - it appears that Tablo pushed out an app update a couple days ago that hosed some streaming systems. They said they’re working on it. Don’t know if it’ll be fixed today or not. One workaround is to connect your antenna directly to your TV.
Favorites from Home Screen works too and my recast is still active too
Having the same problem with my fire stick 4k. Luckily it works fine on. My lg tv. Just inconvenient to have to switch back and forth since I use the fire stick for all other apps and I don’t like the lg remote.
I switched to 2 onn 4k Pros earlier this year and have had little to no problems since. Have never had to restart the Tablo or the onn box since. Really.
Same here. “Unable to load Live TV”.

Yeah, they don’t release features consistently across platforms at the same time, they don’t really seem to test very well, and some of their features are just whacky. Like the new categories for live, they finally showed up on the Fire Stick but they don’t seem to do anything. The issues here are definitely device related and not on the Tablo itself, because it works from some devices. I think their engineers could use a lesson in regression testing in DevOps ![]()
Spoke with Tablo Tech Support who verified this is a recent known bug and is being worked on.
No ETA
Error (unable to load live TV) Occurs on all 4 Fire Sticks
No issue on 2 Roku or iphone 16 or 10.
All steps taken were a HUGE waste of time since this IS A KNOWN PROBLEM caused by their push.
Glad I still have a Fire Recast still connected via antenna splitter to see a guide. Then I program Tablo via iphone (Tablo works pretty slick on the iphone app…)
Tablo should rollback to the previous version of the GoogleTV app until there is a fix for the current problem.
I have 4 TVs in my house. Two of them are older and have the latest FireTV sticks. The other 2 are newer model Sony Bravias with built-in Google TV. All 4 are network (ethernet) connected and running the latest versions of the Tablo client. All 4 are also direct coax connected to my outdoor TV antenna. I also have 2 iPhones and an iPad running the Tablo iOS client. My Tablo is ethernet connected. Everything is updated, rebooted, cash cleared, yada yada.

The Tablo clients on the 2 FireTV stick TVs are running “correctly” as of some time this past weekend. The primary issue I was having before that was incorrect sorting of the guide grid and crashing toggling between the channel view and the new category view. Current client version is 2.0.3.
-
The Google TV Tablo clients, version 2.0.3, will not allow access to the guide grid at all. I can get to programming through tiles in other parts of the app, but no guide grid access. All other features seem to work fine (eg recording).
-
The other issue I have with Google TV Tablo clients is they occasional get stuck in a “retry loop” when watching live TV and encountering a blip in the live TV data stream. The FireTV sticks version doesn’t do this. In all cases, watching recordings doesn’t do this. Only live TV and only in the Google TV ecosystem.
-
The iOS version of the Tablo client works “normally”. No issues to report.
-
All 4 of my TVs deliver flawless “old school” OTA TV via the direct coax antenna feed and internal tuner.
It puzzles me that the FireTV stick and Google TV issues seem to be very inconsistent as I read through postings on this forum. For example, I was shocked to see my FireTV stick issues clear up this past weekend, while others are reporting inability to even access the grid on what seems to be the same client system.
What a cluster.
same - im guessing it’s an android version related issue
To watch any channel live, search for any show that airs on that station, select that show, at the bottom of the screen you have options including “record episode” and “Watch (station) live now”. That live station will air now.
You can also program a show to record using the tablo app on your phone.
You can also look in your library, find one of your upcoming recordings, and choose to watch that station live now.
I have same problem on my Highsense Google tv. Fix is to attach ROKU device and Tablo app on it works fine!
We didn’t see this in testing either which is why this release slipped out.
Thanks to customer reports, we were able to locate some affected devices. In testing, the fix the team worked on this morning is now working on those previously affected devices as expected.
We’ll be sending the update to the app store shortly and will let you all know when it’s available.
Thanks for your patience as we work to get this corrected.
Tablotv app on firestick4k updated a couple of days ago and immediately after when selecting live, I get a message “can’t load live tv” so the guide doesn’t display . I have gone through all troubleshooting steps and it still doesn’t work. All other devices work fine including iPhone, Samsung tv, android tablet and another firestick that isn’t the 4K version.
try’d every thing in the book, but no Live TV on my Android FireTV, but my Android Phone App works. Couldn’t find any thing last night on the Commuinty, but I see it today.![]()
UPDATE - Nov 24 - 5 p.m. ET
The fix was submitted to the app stores earlier this afternoon. Just waiting on App Store approval.
Thanks for your patience folks!
When you say the fix was submitted to the App Store and once it’s approved How would you Update or download it It on your Google TV?
