I just can’t believe that multiple threads were created on this topic. The original thread made it clear what was happening as well as a workaround (use the Windows app) until the issue was resolved.
Hopefully this issue is a good example of how to be better in the future.
Please look for a similar issue before creating a new thread.
Tablo support folks on this board do not look at anything on the weekends.
There really is no need to post “me too” after a certain point when there is a clear issue.
That’s not a workaround for MacOS and Linux users who don’t have a VM for Windows though. (I use Win10 on my desktop and laptop.) @cjcox recently said he has been a SUSE Linux user for quite a number of years. Do you have Wine or something installed?
@cjcox Thanks for posting the Princess Bride screenshot.
@Joltarin While I do use wine, and you’ll see my ancient Visio link in my bar, probably my biggest use of Wine is via Proton in Steam (gaming) use. But I do asked to do some interesting tests. Which reminds me, I have a Leawo example showing full menu support for playing Blurays that I probably should upload. It’s also interesting because the movie is Source Code, a movie with copy protection (not talking encryption, it’s that Disney style “a million and one titles” thing). I’ll upload to my youtube channel. Because, it is “interesting” and something that most will have never tried (under Linux). Shoot, to be honest, probably tons of Windows users that have never been able to turn their PCs into Bluray players (again, just being honest).
Edit: Uploaded after being forced to sign my entire life away on the usage of a minute’s worth of copyrighted (mostly obscured) content. We’ll see. Lawyers are unpredictable.
(way off topic for this thread, sorry. “Tablo good.” “User bad.”)
I agree it’s more than silly how many just blindly create a new topic… I’ sure no one else knows yet, and I want them to know I already tried everything.
It’s odd having a clue how many Linux and Mac users here claiming the “Windows app” is an acceptable option. Some, it may be a choice many likely don’t have an option.
Bought a tablo capable of working “Any PC or MAC computer running Chrome or Safari with a sufficient video card for playing high quality video will work with the Tablo web app.” Not platform dependent Then again “Not fully supported on all browsers - optimized for Chrome and Safari”. We aren’t limited to a data mining browser as virtually all work - once the web app is loaded.
This is extremely subjective… although from a user base perspective, likely true.
So Tablo, are you not going to fix this (commercial skip) or maybe you can’t fix this? Seems you could have built a whole new system in this amount of time!
Commercial skip stopped working for me almost week ago and still not working even after doing everything Tablo said to do including refreshing services.
Hmm, web app still not working, Wed. Feb 7, 6:30 pm - Pacific Time Zone.
For both Chrome & MS Edge: http://my.tablotv.com just hangs forever,
says “Connecting…” with spinning circle.
The legacy 4-tuner Tablo is on wi-fi; works fine with other device players.
These web browsers allow easiest hi-speed playback on a laptop
(ideal for talking head shows). Other players don’t work as well, if at all.
Similar problem happened awhile back when browser updates began
enforcing secure https:// connections, even for home networked devices
such as the Tablo. Adjusting browser settings to allow “Insecure content”
specifically from “my.tablotv.com” seemed to fix it then (but not now).
Might be some similar issue now?
I have a premium subscription … and have had one several years.
I have commercial skip turned on.
About a week ago, my recordings stopped skipping commercials.
This has happened on CBS and NBC programming.
Any ideas?
@TabloTV this is not fixed on my Tablo Quad. Commercial Skip is still not functioning as of today. Is there another issue or is this just not resolved?
