I purchased 3 weeks ago a 4 Gen 4 tuner, worked fine until I had to cut the power to work around the TV set. Now, I don’t have live TV anymore, even by rescannimg the ota channels twice and deleting and reinstalling the google TV app 3 times.
My streaming device is Onn from Walmart.
I think I will return it this week. The CS agent at worthless, they are overseas I think.
Will it play previously recorded programs? Also, do you have more than one viewing setup? Is it doing it on all of them? How about accessing it with your phone?
How about clearing the cache on the streaming device? On some devices simply powering them down fully will clear the cache, some require additional steps. I don’t know about the onn, but it likely follows the same steps as Android TV or Google TV.
It sounds like something happened to your antenna. Is it amplified? Have you tried changing the amplification settings within the Tablo app and rescanning for channels?
Did the antenna become loose or disconnect when you were moving things around?
I was thinking the same thing, but I thought he said it was working correctly through the phone app. Did I read that wrong?
@Paduscoke, can you clarify? Are you receiving live TV on the phone apps? Also, is it still correctly recording new programs even if you can’t tune into them live?
Just a thought… Is it possible that you accidentally changed your guide preferences to FAVORITES and don’t have and favorites programmed? (Just a stab in the dark…)
The Tablo does filter through the hdd for live pausing and rewinding.
I personally (my opinion, IF it is the drive) think its power consumption from the drive itself. When it pulls at full power. I know some older or faulty external cases can pull more power.
I switched to a external drive with its own power supply and I’ve been good since.
Update… I looked it up. This is made by Toshiba, usually pretty good stuff, but it is an older design having been around for nearly ten years. Is this an old drive that you have had sitting around for a while? That could be a problem.
I went with a Western Digital 2TB Elements SE - Portable SSD. In retrospect, I would have gone with a traditional spinning drive rather than an SSD. They are less expensive and generally more durable than SSDs.
