Seems like sometimes there is lag. The voice and picture sometimes gets mismatched, then I have to go back and got to channel again so it gets back to normal. Weird.
Super bummed about this. I just discovered the pvr folder 1 week before updating and I was loving the ability to watch at 2x speed. The most frustrating part is this location has been open since at least 2014; 99.9% of users would never even go to this folder and I was fine having them put an .htaccess restriction on the metadata folder (that is Tabloās secret sauce) but locking down the folder with all the .TS files sucks.
Over the weekend, I unplugged the external HDD and recorded exclusively to the internal storage. No change, still about a 70% failure rate. I also ran Ethernet from the router to the Apple TV, to eliminate all Wi Fi from the equation. About the same failure rate. Iāve also been watching shows/movies, live, while they were being recorded. I saw no glitches in the stream, but when I looked the recordings they were split into multiple parts, or was just an incomplete recording.
Iāve read over the logs on all my internet connected devices, and they do not indicate massive packet loss. In face, they donāt indicate any packet loss of note at all. Since my internet circuit is 1 GB fiber, I wouldnāt expect much packet loss.
Welcome to the club.
Itās not the size of your pipe. Itās the size of the diginet pipe. And after the 2.2.52 change I saw, for the first time, a ārecordingā that actually had zero data.
Did you reboot the Tablo after unplugging your hard drive to ensure that the puck knew where to record?
This is baffling to me. I would definitely send a DM to @TabloTV to see if they can look at your logs before you even THINK about factory resetting it.
None of this other than āWelcome to the club.ā made any sense to me.
A) diginet pipe?
B) How do you know your recording had zero data?
Where do you think FAST channels come from.
And since the distribution foundation is a server that has capacity limitations and an internet connection that has capacity limitations. So to always think the problem exists on the user side is rather absurd. It seems to me that tablo upgraded some itās servers a month ago to provide more capacity.
And how did I know the recording had no data. It seemed simple. There was an entry in the recording tab and when you went to the recording the detail record for that recording was greyed out and the only option available was delete.
I sure did.
You and me both. Iāve been corresponding with Tablo support via email with no progress.
@zippy ā¦ what does diginet pipe mean tho? Is that a technical term?
In computing, a pipeline, also known as a data pipeline, is a set of data processing elements connected in series, where the output of one element is the input of the next one. The elements of a pipeline are often executed in parallel or in time-sliced fashion.
The term can be used in conjunction with queueing theory. Some people use it to mentally visualize capacity choke points.
Since mine updated a few days ago, itās constantly unusable. I find it with a solid white led (which I havenāt seen documented), apps wonāt connect until I reboot.
