NEW - Legacy Tablo Firmware Release (v. 2.2.60)

Understood.

You mentioned this happened with all your apps. The product team would like to know the specific apps and their versions.

All Android apps.
All Rokus
All latest versions.

Thanks @Dasher ,

We’ve let the product team know and will get back to you.

Release 2.2.60 has the same legacy roku app bug I reported at the end of March using a 4660 ultra and 2.2.58.

In the Live TV grid all sporting events show up as diagonal bars. And clicking on them just plays the live channel.

Dual Lite…network version. Did the upgrade today but nothing upgraded except the version under settings…reads 2.2.60. No problems with download or install but the reboot never happened. Eventually it went back to the main screen. Have not restarted it yet. Reset button is iffy so I would probably have to pull the power cable. Any suggestions or anyone else have this problem? Thanks in advance…
Steve

I have a dual 64 that I installed 2.2.58 on and rolled t back to 2.2.42 because of bugs. Yesterday I installed 2.2.60 and got zero message screens - installing, reboot, etc.

After awhile I checked it said it had 2.2.60. The tablo my-status page says it knows about it.

I also installed on a dual 128 and got all the standard message screens.

And at least one of the 2.2.58 bugs is in 2.2.60. I’m not messing with the other bugs.

@zippy ,

The product team was able to reproduce the issue. They’re digging into it further.

It’s on both the dual 64 and a dual 128. Both only use internal memory and a 1 day Live TV grid.

The actual data is in the guide under the sports menu. But it is a real pain in the ass to try to figure out what is on at any specific time on any specific channel.

Update…did a power off/on reboot this morning and all came up fine. I’m guessing it did do a reboot last night after the install. Connecting through Roku using the OG icon…

This is what worries me. Having setup a gen 4 device, the required app and location permission to setup… not happy, basically unacceptable behaviour. No way is the gen 4 software better than what we’re using. I’m at the point where I’m happy with the legacy device as is and if it breaks, I won’t be replacing it.

The main issue is the loss of remote streaming. That and the name " Tablo Legacy Transition Program". It’s pretty clear if I take the dictionary definition of ā€œtransitionā€. i.e. there’s an end point that isn’t the start. @TabloTV if you have no intention of forcing a gen 4 only update on us in the future, then you have to rename this program, otherwise I have to assume that you’re intending on ending support for gen 3 devices at some point soon with this forced update.

My trust has gone. Rename the program if you want to start earning it back.
