When I select a channel on the Tablo and choose to “Play Channel”, it only shows the current show and the stops. I have to manually select the next show on the channel. This is not the behaviour I have on other services.
Thanks for support helping me on this.
If you click on an entry in the first column, say, NBC 5.1, it will continue playing past the end of shows. However, selecting and playing The Kelly Clarkson Show will stop at the end of that show.
Thanks! That’s what I’ve been doing: going to the far left and selecting “Play Channel”. Still stops showing after the current episode.
Thanks for clarifying. What streaming device or TV app are you using to view the TabloTV programming? Have you tried a soft reset by pressing and releasing the reset button on the bottom of the Tablo device?
I’m using the Tablo app on a Roku. I’ve power cycled the Tablo as well as a reset. Still the same behaviour.
Thanks.
Can you provide the Roku model number and what OS it’s running? Is your Tablo Gen4 running the latest firmware? You can find these things in your Tablo Settings menu within Roku.
The only other things to recommend are to 1. clear cache on the Roku by restarting, and 2. uninstall the Tablo app on your Roku and reinstall.
If these don’t work, you might contact Tablo Support directly.
It’s a Roku 4850X-Ultra, OS 14.5
I’ve checked the firmware and it’s up to date.
I’ll uninstall and reinstall the app. I haven’t tried that lately.
I has seen this behavior, too. However, I only tend to see it if I am watching live a program that I am also recording.
Also, I see this on my Roku Ultra (not sure about my other Roku), but not on my ONN device.
Hey @jlknight56 - Live playback should continue UNLESS you are also recording what you’re watching OR you’re out of available tuners.
If you’re also recording what you’re watching live, the tuner will be released as the recording wraps up. This will end playback.
If you’re not recording what you’re watching, but a tuner is needed for scheduled recordings on another channel, playback will end so that can occur.
If neither of those things are occurring, it would be good to get a video of what you’re seeing.
@jlknight56 - I just tested with my Roku 4850X from 1455 to 1515 hrs CDT and it’s played through to the next program.
I updated the Roku and reinstalled Tablo. At 1600 EDT the channel continued playing! We’ll see how it does at 1700. Hopeful!
So, I guess it would happen more often on a 2-tuner model than a 4-tuner model… correct?
Ok, so if I’m recording a show and watching a channel, the playback ends after the recording ends.
Other than that, no recording and it plays the same channel uninterrupted. I can live with this.
