A new firmware release is now available for Tablo. The focus of this release is adding support for some upcoming apps and app updates as well as increasing overall stability of the platform.
Like previous releases, this firmware will be offered in a staged rollout. A small portion of users will have access to this firmware immediately. We will increase access slowly as we judge feedback and distribute the firmware to increasingly larger batches of units over the coming week.
Release notes for 2.2.10:
ā¢ Adds support for upcoming app releases
ā¢ Sports image enhancements to adapt to guide data provider change
ā¢ Corrected issue where some manual programs were rescheduled every night
ā¢ Corrected rare issue (with large number of scheduled recordings) that could cause a reboot
ā¢ Kernel bug fixes including updated Ethernet driver
ā¢ Other reliability and performance enhancements
NOTE #1: Post-upgrade database processes (if needed) may take several minutes to complete. During this time the LED will be blinking. Do not power down the Tablo until the LED is solid again.

Itās hard to keep track of releases by numbers. Could you name new releases the way the weather service names hurricanes and storms? Like Hurricane Edna or Louiseā¦this way we can refer to a release as āNoahā or āJonah.ā
I guess I will get sometime late next week if the release schedule holds as usual. It would be nice to change up the order sometime.
I am glad you guys are addressing the āFactory resetā issue. There are several stories here of people that didnāt mean to do that, and there are others that encourage the user to do it without going through any real troubleshooting. Making it difficult to do will certainly help.

I am looking forward to the update, and hopefully this means the AppleTV app will be released soon.

Football fans will recall that Tom Brady graced the Tablo guide for waaaaay too long and there were some other oddities with the images around college sports. Long story short, there are now two image categories: team and university so the images will be more relevant and updated more often.
I havenāt gotten it yet, and Iām happy with that. Better to wait a bit and ensure that there are no issues with the new firmware, rather than be the pioneer with arrows in my back. Seriously, these rollouts typically take only about a week or so. Iāve been watching this thread and have been happy to see no sign of any issues.
It would be nice to change up the order sometime.
