So after beating up on the Tablo developers a bit let me say this …
I received this Tablo last week and had very little run time before updating to 2.2.6. After the update, I had what appeared to be a marginally functional product on my hands and was beginning to have some serious buyers remorse. The “Loading please wait” issue made viewing very frustrating on about half the channels, bordering on completely unwatchable.
Now that those issues have been worked through, I must say that I am very pleased with the product. It delivers an excellent picture to all my TVs and it gets everything on to one interface (i.e. Roku). No more switching from input to input source.
So, pat on the back for the Tablo guys. You’ve got a good product. You do have some bugs to work through, but the underlying concept is sound.
If you want to improve the user experience and perhaps unload your support team, think about providing more status/diagnostic information for more advanced users. Also, maybe a bit more real world testing might have uncovered some of these issues before release.
That said, now that it’s working I am impressed.
