Guide not showing the changes I made

I added 2 OTA channels and removed 1. I let the update guide function go to completion and then went to live TV. The 2 new channels are not there and the 1 channel I removed is still there. How long does it take for the guide to make these changes?

Legacy Tablo runnig Gen 4 update. Firestick. Firmware 2.2.60-2610615.

Thanks

I assume you are talking about the Live TV menu. I would exit/disconnect the app and restart the app. If that doesn’t help you could always go to the fire tv stick setting/manage app and clear the gen 4 app cache and restart the app. That should force the channels and guide to be reloaded.

However, it is annoying and sometimes I have to get the channels set the way I want, then do another rescan/save. Usually it works. Sometimes I fiddle around with six or seven rescans.

Sometimes through my tears I just change my zip code to an adjacent one and rescan/save.

BTW there are 2 guide updates. When you initially make a change and save a brief update takes place on your device. This updates the ‘selected’ flags.

A second and longer update takes place to connect to the Tablo Gen4 servers to get guide data.

Wait for both to complete. Exit the app. Start the app. I’ve noticed that sometimes the changes are not reflected on the screen until the app restarts and refreshes the guide.

Tried both. Did not update the Live TV menu (guide).

Running update guide data again.

And what does another app like a cell phone show for live TV. I haven’t added and subtracted any channels for a long time. And I only use the favorites that I marked in the channel scan. Nothing fancy or tricky.

That’s the bug. Your Channels show one thing and then the guide shows no change. Conversely the change can be reflected in the guide but the Your Channels will have the select flags wrong.

All my Gen4 apps.

Android mobile, LGTV app, iPad, Fire Stick 4k G2.

I use Tablo Gen4 device and Gen4 apps.

His is Legacy device with Gen4 app?

Both Fire Stick.

Cell phone app has same issue. Secong guide update did not fix the issue. The channel ID box on the left side of the guide has also lost it’s color graphics. It just show call letters and station #.

Are we talking about new stations that are not normally part of your DMA/Zipcode. And while I think that mature code should not require a tablo unit reboot maybe your unit needs a reboot.

Otherwise you have tried almost all the tricks and need to open a ticket.

The channels in question are part of my DMA.

Since my last post, the channel guide has updated to reflect the changes I made. Still waiting for the color graphics to return.

I dunno what market you are in but is the channel graphics that is dimmed a CBS station?

Are you in one of the 7 markets that is transitioning to Nexstar CW?

If yes there are other threads discussing it. If no I’m stumped.

I am in the Boston market. The missing graphics are all the channels. It’s not a big deal. It’ll probably take a day or two for them to recover.

o to recover.

So, after a day the color graphics are still missing in the far left column of the guide, the home page, and all other pages. I have attached pictures.

We’re also showing some issues with the Legacy device and Gen4 app using the Fire TV Stick 4K MAX. Not to the same extent as @Scaleman, but out of 20 recordings we have 3 icons not showing up, and 2 of those same 3 not showing up in the Android app.

That is strange, @Scaleman,

Would you DM us your SID? We’d like to take a look.

Hi, @Scaleman,

We spoke with the product team, try updating your guide data, and let us know if that helps.

Doesn’t the guide data update automatically?

I have completed the guide update. It did not fix anything. Still no graphics on any page.

I also did a channel scan and saved the changes even though there were no changes made.

Did not fix the graphics issue.

Thanks @Scaleman,

We’ve let the product team know.

@Scaleman

The product team got back to us. They’d like to know what version of the Tablo app you have on your fire stick. On your app, you should see it under the Fire TV section of your Settings page.
