Can't rewind or fast forward live tv

When watching live TV on a lg TV, I can no longer rewind or fast forward. Pause and play works but that’s it. The blue status bar is continuously running and if you try to rewind it kicks you down to channels. The blue status will stop for about 2 seconds and start back up. When it stops and if you time it right you can click on the live TV icon and get back to live tv. But if you don’t time it right and the studs bar starts again, you are sent down to channels.
I have tried resetting and rebooting the tablo as well as deleting the app on my TV and phone and rebooting both. I then reinstalled apps with no change. I was on wifi so changed to Ethernet, again no change. This just started recently.
My tablo is a 4th gen and only about 6 months old. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I can confirm this exact same behavior on the latest LG webOS Tablo app. Rewinding live tv no longer works. If I switch over to the Apple TV version of the Tablo app, rewind and FF of live TV still works fine. The problem is definitely specific to the latest version of the Tablo app for LG webOS.

This is also happening to my lg tv it started about a week ago. I have a samsung tv in my bedroom and it works fine.

I’m also having this problem since the last app update. FF and Rewind got much more responsive on recordings, but on Live TV this is what I get most of the time. It works occasionally, but mostly I see what the OP describes.

Hey Folks,

We’re aware of this issue and are investigating.

Having the same issue on LG c9

Add me to the list. I have also lost rewind and fast forward capabilities while watching live TV on my LG TV. I love updates that screw things up. Has me questioning my decision to buy a Tablo.

I just want to say that in general the performance of the app on the LG c9 is really really slow compared to my Android or iPad app. It’s not terrible for watching recordings, but for loading live TV, it’s pretty bad.

I called about this on 3 occasions, finally got the explanation today, LG C2

what did they say?

They just made me aware of the problem. 1st call they blamed my 2TB drive, 2nd time they blamed bad reception so naturally when I called the 3rd time I was skeptical and I started searching. No mention of when or if they were developing a solution.

ok so they are aware. investigating etc. thanks

I cantacted tech support via email and this was there response:

Our development team has been made aware of an issue with the Tablo app running on certain Smart TVs since the latest firmware update. This issue is affecting playback features such as rewind and fast-forward.

So in other words they don't know what the fix is as of yet.
