Yes, that functionality should be implemented on the 4th gen Tablo. The “upcoming suggestions” on the “Library” screen aren’t bad and usually get me where I want to go, but they aren’t the same.
To show how crazy some app features are tossed out all you had to do is look at the “home for the holidays” ribbon that was announced on Nov 28th. You can get to the holiday shows(Shows, Movies) via their genre. But only if you app and device implement that feature.
Knowing that ribbon widths aren’t infinitely wide I decided to actually count the number of shows and movies list by the genre holiday. I had 121. And on a gen 4 I only use 80% of the fast channels and the big 4, CW, and PBS for the OTA channels. None of the othe 20+ OTA sub-channels.
The width of the roku ribbon 100. So it was missing at least 21. And the idea of a 14 day schedule is to be able to schedule 14 days in advance.
By chance - are those ATSC 3.0 channels? I am wondering if you are hitting DRM problems.
The Tablo won’t pick up ATSC 3.0 channels.
Right - I forgot…
Onn 4K 2023 Google TV box.
Thanks. So it sounds like there may be an issue on Google TV boxes, as that is one thing in common with the original poster.
I don’t own one, so I can’t test this one out. Are there any other members here that have this setup and can test?
I have seeing this issue for some time. In Phoenix, the Phoenix suns are now on over the air but I am not able to record the games, I get the same message in the screen shot. I can record the Suns pregame and the post game but not the game itself. I contacted Tablo Support and they be asked me to rescan the channels and re-download the guide. This did not resolve the issue. I contacted the local broadcast company and they had no info on black outs for Tablo. I contacted the NBA but as you guess I have not heard back.
I can record the Phoenix coyotes but Tablo is a But Tablo is a sponsor of the coyotes. Today I noticed that I am also not able to record the march madness on cbs.
Sorry to hear you’re having the issue. I kinda gave up on the Tablo. There is something going on with live sports and the technical team isn’t not that great.
Out of curisioty, what’s happening when you try to or schedule your sports ball games?
Could that error message in the opening post be Tablo’s version of a 404 error. Maybe the information for the game moved during the two weeks since the guide entry was created.
Failed to load. Item not found.
Sorry to hear you’ve been having issues recording sports.
We’d like to take a closer look at your Tablo’s logs so we can get to the bottom of this issue.
If you’re willing, could you put your Tablo in remote access mode for us? You can do this by clicking the reset button on the bottom of your Tablo quickly three times.
You’ll know you’ve done it correctly when it starts blinking in a heartbeat pattern. If the LED returns to a solid blue, you’ve just rebooted it and will have to try again.
Thank you, I will do that tonight.
Complete, the Tablo seems to be in the mode you requested, it is blinking like a heart beat.
Thanks! Hopefully, the engineering team will be able to find some clues there.
We’ll let you know if we need any additional info.
@PhxSuns The next time this happens to you, can you try going to SETTINGS > GUIDE > UPDATE, then wait until the update is complete before attempting to schedule it again?
There does seem to be occasional mismatches between the data on the Tablo and the data on our servers, especially for sports events where the opponents are unknown at first and then updated later.
We are going to work to eliminate these as much as possible, but we hope that this step will allow you to schedule the airings.
Thank you,
I just performed the suggested process to schedule a sporting event. I opened Tablo / Settings / Guide / Last updated and performed a manual update. I then re-spawned the Tablo app and then attempted to schedule a Suns Game for March 27 when the app presented an error, Faild to load. Item not found Try again. I then tried to schedule the Clemson vs Arizona basketball game on CBS for March 28 and got the same error. When I contacted Tablo Support in Jan about this same issue I was asked to re-scan my channels and download a new guide and this did not work ether. Should I do a reset to the Tablo and start over?
@PhxSuns Just to be clear, you waited until the update was complete before attempting to schedule the games?
that is correct, I waited until the update was complete and then tried to schedule the 2 different sporting events.
