Yet Another HDD Format Prompt Failure

And NO - I shouldn’t have to open a friggin’ support ticket to get the drive formatted. Sheesh.

Tried:
1 - Power on tablo without hard drive attached
2 - Connect to tablo app or browser app on pc
3 - Go to settings page
4 - Connect your hard drive
5 - You will get a prompt to format!
(Except this failed too!)

Also tried:
Removing the partition in Windows disk manager - no go.

I bought a new WD Passport 2T external drive. I’ve tried every combination of powercycle/plug/website and Tablo still refuses to give me the format prompt. Comon’ Tablo, this seems to be a very common problem. What gives?

Anyone have any suggestions? What’s worked for you?

Have you updated to the 2.2.28 firmware? There is a fix that will help improve the detection of new drives and should help you get rolling.

If not and you’ve already tried unplugging the drive, allowing the Tablo to come online, then connecting the drive, you’ll have to touch base with support for further troubleshooting.
