Windows App Internet access on startup

Hello all,

I haven’t cracked out WireShark yet and wanted to ask what the Windows Tablo app does at startup that requires internet access when connecting to my Tablo box. I have to run Zscaler on the computer and I am unable to connect to the Tablo. I assume it is trying to discover my Tablo using a script from Tablo servers. Some clarificiation woudl be helpful so I can intelligently request a ZScaler exception. Alternately is there a way to get the App to just connect to a specific Tablo device without doing a discovery ?

Incidentally ZSCaler is a network threat and malware defense system.

Thanks
Robert

Yes, it’s to get the IP for your tablo. I bet the Windows app is basically a wrapper for a modified web app, but it may be more…

LOL - no Although some app/devices have some discovery methods and can access with out “phone home” every time.
