Speculating, of course, but this could be the latest in a series of steps to move the OG Legacy over to the Gen4 app. Or, maybe it just broke. Either way, it’s a bummer. Sorry.
I never subscribed to this feature because my wife said FF worked just fine. I wonder if anything else on the Legacy is not working.
Well, I went into my OG device and it’s experiencing issues displaying shows and recordings. Settings and Live Guide appear to be working though. Sheesh.
Doesn’t grayed out mean the app has commercial skip turned off.
Well, nothing has appeared to change, and the firmware is up to date (ver. 2.2.42.) This is the Tablo app on a Roku tv. Commercial skip detection is still on. And the commercial skips are there, just not yellow anymore, they’ve all turned gray and commercials dont skip anymore during playback.

My wife is quick with the remote and the FF button. She hits that play button just right, like 2 seconds before the show comes back on. I wish I had those reflexes when I’m playing Hunt Showdown.
Mine is still working. You would need to login to your legacy account and see if CS is still active for your device.

It should still work.

The key is making sure the setting is active, and it is also active in the player (if you see a grey scrubber bar in the player, it is not).

"If you are playing a recording that has been marked with ‘Commercial Skip is ready’ and you are not seeing the player automatically skip commercials, you may have accidentally disabled skips within the playback window.
If this is the case, the identified commercial segments will be marked in grey versus yellow."
Apparently, I had accidentally turned off commercial skip in the playback window.
