Who still makes TV's that use the Legacy Tablo app

Need a new TV, and, because I still use a Legacy Tablo app, I need one that still installs the Legacy Tablo app. Is there a list of TV brand names? I found a generalized list of different OS systems that work with the Legacy Tablo on the Tablo support page, but would like an actual list of manufacturers that make TV’s that are compatible with the Legacy app.

Would prefer an android TV.

I have the Onn and Hisense tvs with Roku built in. Works with the legacy and gen 4 Tablo.

Just plug it in, set up the wifi and Roku account. Download the Tablo app and you’re off and running.

You can also connect an antenna to watch ota in case of wifi failure.

Is there a reason you don’t want to use a box like the Roku, AppleTv, or GoogleTv? Those work very well with the legacy Tablo, and you aren’t dependent on a particular tv set.

I have three TCL TV’s with ROKU built in and one ROKU TV.
All accessing my Legacy Tablo.

This is recommended.

I’m using the latest FireTV Stick on my new-ish (2021) Samsung QLED and the latest Roku on my old (2010) Samsung HD TV and both devices have the legacy app installed and working.

I just found out, though, that I’m seeing a problem with sync rate if set too high on the Roku on the older TV. Manually reducing the Roku display resolution fixed our issue.

@TabloTV may have published an article stating above what TV OS versions the Legacy App is no longer supported. If not, it would be helpful.

Thank you all for your help and recommendations!

Armed with your responses, we went to Best Buy and ended-up getting a 43" TCL Google TV. The rep assured us that we can load both types of Tablo apps.

And he was right! After setting up the TV, I was able to add the Legacy Tablo app without any problems, and the app works great! The TV is a good tv with nice picture and sound. We use it when exercising, so we don’t a $10,000,000.00 TV (well…). Good price for the tv, too!
Thanks, again, for the advice; we’re happy campers!

I have a 43" TCL Roku TV. Did you consider the Roku vs Google operating system? If so, why did you choose Google over Roku? Back when I got the Roku, I was making a choice between Roku and Amazon Fire…I don’t know much about the Google OS.

I chose Roku over Amazon only because I wanted to have more flexibility on what Amazon account to use on the TV.

Hello MSR,

I don’t know that much about Roku TV and like using Google TV. All the apps we use work fine with Google TV, so I saw no need to change to another OS system. Also, our Legacy Tablo product seems to work fine, even though, from time-to-time, we have minor problems with it.

Basically, it is a “don’t fix it if it ain’t broken” decision.
