when will i be able to get tablo when away from home
Others have mentioned that a VPN is a good solution for this (and you can access other devices on your home network besides Tablo too).
The Legacy Tablo had a remote viewing option, but not sure if the 4th gen will ever have it. Maybe @TabloTV can say if this is on their roadmap (they may have commented before, but I did not pore over the forum posts).
Its not a trivial upgrade. The Amazon Recast had this feature from day 1 but it only worked about 10% - 20% of the time.
I configured a VPN to my home… You can get decent residential routers that have simple “one touch” VPN features that you can load on your phone, laptop, and or tablet.
I use BlueStacks with my Windows laptop VPN’d into my home to watch Tablo.
VPN is way better than allowing Tablo to provide the service. Even on my legacy Quad I have completely turned off remote viewing because my mid-level home router with a Wireguard connection is flawless. I get about 480-510 meg streams using Wireguard remotely to my router on LAN. Its fiber maybe I am cheating a little, LOL! The fundamental Wireguard setup is completely established and developed so I can pretty much assure it will be flawless if you know what you are doing.
Using remote client on Android Cell, Firesticks, ONN all of which remote into my LAN when I need them to.
