Weird recording problem

Today I wanted to record a UCONN basketball game at 12:00PM on CBS. I set up the recording as usual, however, the Tablo displayed an error that said “there was an error and the show cannot be recorded”. Going back to the guide, the red line that normally appears in the guide for recordings, did not appear. When I selected the show again and selected record, the Tablo displayed the same error.

I rebooted my router, and my Fire TV 4KMax, and tried again, and the same thing occurred. I selected “Library” and “Coming Soon”, and the show is there, scheduled to be recorded. However, going back to the guide, there is no red line there. When I select the show from the guide, it acts as if the show is not scheduled to record, and I can select to record it again (which fails).

This is the first time I have seen this behavior. Has anyone else experienced this?

Edit: It appears that the show is recording, even though the guide does not display the red line. As I said, the guide acts as if the show is not scheduled to record, lets me select it to record, and then says that the recording cannot be scheduled.

Sometimes I have this from time to time. I think it stems from the guide data becoming different in some fashion. For example if the program title was updated to include the basketball team names it gets weird. I would recommend updating your guide data in settings.

You are right! I agree that the guide data is the problem. When the problem occurred, I could not tune to the live channel for the UCONN basketball game. When selecting the channel, the Tablo displayed “Error loading airing details”, and would not tune to the channel. I could tune to the channel by selecting the channel logo rather than the program description.

It looks like the program guide cannot handle different program information from when I originally selected the game to record. Fortunately, the game recorded correctly even though the guide did not think that the show was scheduled.
