Watch Latest Episode is not working now. What changed recently?

Ok, what has changed or been updated recently??

Tablo Gen 4 using a Roku - I have one new recording. click on it, select ‘Watch Latest Episode’. It used to bring up that one recording. Now it just goes out, appears to not find it and return to the menu. To view it, you have to select ‘See more recordings’ and select the one recording shown.

@TabloSupport @TabloEngineering did you break this in a recent update??

Tablo, do you have any feedback for this issue. I sent this in 10 days ago and there has been no response. Do you understand the issue?

Hi @Buzz56,

Are you referring to the “Recent Recordings” row on the Home screen? If so, that is a known issue and has already been fixed for the next release.

Until then, you should still be able to watch your recordings as normal from the Library section.

@TabloForumAdmin

No it’s not from the Home page. On the home page, I drill down to the particular show that was recorded, click on that and select Latest recording. All it does is return to the same location on the home screen.

So now you have to click more recordings, select the recording and play. Bottom line, about 4 clicks more than was required before when you simply select ‘latest recording’.

What’s changed to make this more labor intensive to play a recording?

To clarify, the Recent Recordings row on Home is where the bug is. You can still watch your recordings as normal (with fewer clicks even) from Library. Your latest recording will be there at the top in the “Latest” section.

As for what’s changed, it was unfortunately a bug that was not caught, rather than an intentional change to make it more difficult.

So what you are saying is, you recognize the bug/problem and you have a plan to fix it soon?

Any sort of ETA or release level I should look for to ensure my version gets fixed?

Yes indeed, it should be resolved when our next release comes out. I can’t give an exact timetable, but should be weeks rather than months. There will be a post on here when the time comes. Thank you for your patience in the meantime, and again, we suggest using the Library section for watching recordings, especially until the fix is in place.
