One of the things that I have missed with the new “improved” Tablo 4th gen was the web interface. I used to watch TV on my PC laptop from my old Tablo. Alas he is dead and I now have 4th gen machine. So I got to thinking, the Tablo works with Android devices. I can run a Android emulator on my PC. I first tried Buestacks. Bluesacks would bring up the Tablo interface but when I tried to view a stream it would just display a black screen. So Bluestacks was out. I then tried LDPlayer9 (https://www.ldplayer.net/) and it works like a champ. I am happily watching Tablo shows setting in my easy chair on my laptop now.
I can’t say about Windows, but I run Ubuntu on my laptop and use an Android emulator called Waydroid. The Android Tablo app runs great on it.
A month or so ago, I tried using the Windows 11 Subsystem for Android with the Google Play store Android version and the Fire TV version, but they didn’t work. The Google Play store version didn’t run at all, and the Fire TV version almost did, but it had an Amazon App Store requirement that caused it problems even after I installed the Amazon app store.
From what I read Micro$oft has abandoned the Android emulation. I like the LDPlayer emulator and have not found any issues so far.
I use Blue Stacks all the time on my Windows PC and it works.
For me Bluestacks would not play the video. Just a black screen. It probably was a video driver problem. LDPlayer did though.
I did not know that about Microsoft. Anyway, when I want Tablo TV on my PC, I’ll continue to use my Samsung Galaxy’s DEX mode with my Windows PC.
