if upgrading from older tablo dvr to new 4th gen tablo will my saved shows on usb drive be erased upon set up
Yes.
There is a little bit of a masochist in all of us. Keep the legacy unit for a while. If the pain is too great you can always re-subscribe for a subscription.
Based on what I have been reading here, if your Legacy Tablo is working well, and you are satisfied with the features, you may be better off waiting a while before changing to a Gen 4. I am a relatively new Tablo user and my Gen 4 works just fine, but I see a lot of comments from the folks who had Legacy models that say that the Gen 4 just doesn’t have all the bugs worked out yet. I am very confident that they will get it all sorted out eventually, but right now the Legacy version sounds more stable.
