Unresolved Gracenote Mapping Bug - NBC 13.10 / MeTV (ZIP 54636) - Ticket #515292

Hello @TabloSupport and @TabloTV,

I am posting here because my formal support ticket (#515292) was marked “Successfully Resolved” by Brittany back on May 1st, but the critical guide data mapping bugs for my Gen 4 Tablo were never actually fixed and still remain broken today.

I am located in Holmen, WI (ZIP 54636) pulling from the La Crosse market translator towers (specifically W34FC-D).

Here is the exact layout of the broken database mapping that Gracenote needs to fix for ZIP 54636:

1. Channel 13.10 (NBC): This channel actually broadcasts NBC. However, the Tablo Gen 4 guide incorrectly maps MeTV programming data over it. Because of this cross-mapping, I cannot schedule or record any NBC programming (including major sports).

2. Channel 14.4 (MeTV): This channel scans in perfectly with a strong green signal, but because Gracenote provides zero data for it, the Gen 4 UI completely hides it from my Live TV Grid, making it impossible to tune to.

My native Samsung TV tuner uses local PSIP data and displays both of these channels with perfect guide data, confirming this is strictly an exclusive Gracenote/Tablo database indexing error.

Since my previous ticket was prematurely closed without a real fix, could a forum administrator please manually escalate this specific translator stack to the engineering team for a database override?

Thank you,

Brian

You might have better luck by asking the station to send its programming info to Gracenote.

This is the link to Gracenote.

It appears that the OP is correct. Sort of. Gracenote is correct but with other errors. This must be corrected by the station operator.

I had a similar experience and used Tablo TV’s link to update station information. See below.

You already did that :joy:.

The last email should say that it was closed or that you can respond to the email to keep it open.

Maybe Tablo could fix this without involving Gracenote or the station.

They could get Gracenote’s programming information for WEAU virtual channel 13.01 RF 17.1 (per rabbitears) and use it as the guide data for W34FC-D virtual channel 13.10 RF 34.5. It’s the same programming on both channels.

Then they could use the data they already have for W34FC-D virtual channel 14.04 RF 34.4 for that channel instead of using it for W34FC-D virtual channel 13.10 RF 34.5 like they are now.

Of course the OP has already asked them to do this. So he may have to keep repeatedly sending the request until it gets to someone who knows what he is doing.

And it wouldn’t hurt to ask the station to ask Gracenote to update their data.

You bet they can… But it took a month of emails.
