I have been building up a library of “Seinfeld” episodes. I currently have 161 Episodes and I’ve used about 388GB (Edit:Different devices give me different numbers.) out of my 2.0TB WD USB External HDD. I have been watching the news daily with my TiVo Stream 4K (aka TS4K) with no major issues. I can watch currently recorded episodes just fine. BUT, when I try to load the library of old recordings with my TS4K, most icons fail to load, and when an icon does appear, and I try to play an older recorded episode, it either reboots the app or loses connection and tells me to reboot the Tablo. This is true on all four of the TS4Ks that I own.
Yet, there is no problem accessing and playing these episodes with my two Rokus and my Samsung Galaxy S22 phone. So, it really points to the TS4K.
Besides the four TiVo Stream 4K dongles (Android 12) that I own, I also own 65" Onn TV (Roku OS Ver. 1.51), a Roku 3820RW (OS Ver. 1.52) and a Samsung Galaxy S22 (Android 16) Phone.
For troubleshooting, I completely factory reset one of the TS4Ks and loaded only the Tablo Android App and there was no change in behavior. TiVo recently updated the Android version to 12, so I do not anticipate this being upgraded in the future.
I’ve read where people have trouble with filled up drives, but I’ve barely filled this one up. So, the only thing I’m left with is that there is a problem with the TS4K and Android TV Ver. 12.
At this point, I’ve spent a day troubleshooting this myself, and I have come to the conclusion that I can live with it by using a Roku (which I see the most problems being reported ironically) or moving on and trying another device, which I’m inclined to do.
ETA: I also just remembered I have an Amazon Fire TV that has Android OS 7.1.2 with Fire TV App 2.0.5. It is slow as molasses, but it works playing old recordings.
